Most of modern television sucks. But as a wee lad of about 10 or so, I would catch these shows on late night television, which was very much against my dear ol' mother's will as she thought a bed time was much more important for my schooling.

I really liked them. So now in my old age, I look back on those late nights and reminisce. I think to myself, now here are a couple of shows that are entertaining and do so without perversity or something equally foul. The good news is, I can pick up The Commish on DVD, but Picket Fences i've not seen in quite sometime and isn't available on DVD yet.

Anyone remember these shows or am I the only one here who either remembers them or seen them?

I guess I don't watch enough TV because I don't think I ever heard of either of those.

Were they on in the 1980s? I didn't really watch TV in the 80s.

Nah, they were from 1991-1996ish.

How was the trip? By the way, the Captain of the airplane your were on called me... He told me that he saw you eating my paprika potato chips. In fact, he heard you tell your travelling companion and I quote, "That TLE, he'll never know and besides, airplane food is atrocious."

:preach:

*chokes up* I forgive you for this heinous action.

Welcome Back!

I loved watching The Commish, that was a great show. I never saw Picket Fences. I really liked the show The Pretender too.

The airplane food WAS atrocious, but I have a small bag of paprika chips sitting right here waiting to mail to you. I just couldn't remember who asked for them. PM me your address and I send them to you.

By the way, I carried them in my carry-on bag, so they are a little mooshed. But many of them are still whole! :)

I remember watching both shows first run.

I think my favorite episode of Picket Fences was the one with Jeter someone (he was also on Nightshade) as the Frogman.

Both shows were very well done - I know the lead on The Commish played a character about 15 yrs older than the actor's true age. Evidently he looked the part due to being somewhat overweight and balding.

I think it's amazing that Michael Chiklis (sp?) has an acting range that goes from portraying John Belushi, the Commish, and now Mackey on the Shield. He is really good.
