I dont care for TBN, yet last night I flipped across, saw a preacher I hadnt seen before, tried to give him a chance. He talked about the woman in Matt 9 who had been bleeding and came up to touch the cloak of Jesus.

(He didnt say what chapter or verse, just mentioned the woman. They never seem to tell you where to find the verse..)

So he says... Jesus never came through that town again. The woman could have decided to wait until the next time, but she wouldnt have been healed. He says, but no, something within this woman told her that it was HER turn...

So he starts spouting about how we all need to have the attitude of, "Get out of my way, its MY turn!" And we shouldnt care what others think. More of this "claim your blessing" garbage. Gods ways are the total opposite of the worlds ways. We are deserving of NOTHING. If God chooses to bless us, thats awesome, but we do not deserve it, and to expect it is pompous and prideful.

The world says "Get out of me way!"
Christians are supposed to have a humble attitude that says, "No, please, YOU go first."

Being a Christian isnt about what God can do for us. He saved us from the pits of HELL! Is this not enough???

Its about how WE can serve GOD! What WE can do for OTHERS! Selflessness, self-sacrifice, denying oneself and taking up our cross daily!

If we are walking closely with God, we shall want for nothing. Not a thing. We are content in whatever situation we are in. This is the peace and joy that God gives us.

I must say, I am sick of hearing people talk about how we should expect God to give us every silly little material thing we want. What happened to "Give us this day our daily bread?" These preachers teach we are to sit at the table and expect the huge feast that is due us.

If MY children were to make such demands and expect the things that were "due them," I would be very disappointed in them.

Again, I believe we are to serve God and others... not wait for God to serve us!
We are to give all of ourselves.... to give, not wanting something in return. We are to devote our life and whole being to God, to live for his purposes, for his glory!

My goal as a Christian is to glorify God in all that I do. There are many Christians out there who are truly living to glorify God. Today, and for the rest of my life... its my turn to glorify God. Its MY turn.

Rant complete.

Go do it and let the Lord be with you. Make your that you consult the LORD before doing it though. You always need to have him on your side. Good luck!
