With like minded believers. We have been looking for a church in our area and are really getting discouraged. We love to worship and there is nothing close to us with good worship. We have teens and children so having things for them is also a priority. How far do you drive to church? We live in a very rural area and want something within 15 minutes so we can be involved. There are mostly Baptist around here.

I feel for you. I too, live in a rural area. We are in a small town, and there are two other small towns within a 10 minute drive. I tried out church after church. Some people call it church hopping and frown upon it, but I was looking for a church to devote myself to, one where God could use me best, and I see nothing wrong with looking around!
We are a very musical family, so we wanted a church with lots of music, and like you, we have kids, it should be a place that has things for them as well. But of course, most importantly, you need a church that teaches Biblical truth.
We finally found one and we have been there for almost 3 years. We drive about 10 to 15 minutes to get there. We have a great youth group and if you lived near me, I know you'd love my church. All I can say is to keep looking. Ask around. Living in a rural area, theres a good chance you will have to drive a ways to church. I think you should pick some sort of a limit, say a 20 min drive, then search around and find all the churches you can in that area.
Sorry to hear you are getting discouraged. Keep in mind it might be worth it for you to have a longer drive so that you can be at the church you choose. Dont settle. Also, pray about it. God will lead you to the church you need to be at. Have faith!

I wish my church was closer. We drive 30 minutes to get there, and I go there three times a week. Cost of fuel is killing me :)

We live in AL. The closest cities with any church we would be interested in is at least 30 minutes. We attended one for four years and just got tired of feeling so disconnected. When you are not part of that community it seems hard to be a part of a church in that community. We couldn't stay for services or anything going on Sunday afternoon and we couldn't drive back after already spending an hour on the road. Thanks for listening. Right now I am getting fed by listening to ministers from TV and online.

 That does sound tough. Perhaps you can find some other families with children the ages of yours who are interested in having home group meetings and perhaps attend a church in a nearby town once a month and meet in your homes the other 3 weeks. I pray that you will find fellowship in Christ.

You are a family. If you fellowship with each other, then you have church and do not refuse anyone who wants to join! The word for church is ecclesia, which means 'called out ones'. So, basically, all you need is each other. But again, do not refuse anyone who wants to join. God will give the increase. Pray about it.
