...God, actually. Well anyway, let's cut through the fat. How would you feel somebody robbed you, or didn't even thank you for the things you did for them? What if you gave all your assets to a poor person so that they could make something of themself and they just squandered them? Worse yet, what if that person stole all your assets? How would you take it? Would you be mad or would you turn the other cheek? This topic hits a little close to home for me this evening, as I just happened to get ousted a a sum of money today. ^_^ ...That's why I got to thinking about it, actually, though I was thinking a bit on the same lines already.
If our life and our wealth is placed in the hands of God, it's not our own... so why get all keyed up over something that's not even ours? And if it's God's money and someone steals some of it, why get angry? Isn't that God's business? Why not write off thefts as a gift to your enemy and cheatful transactions as an opportunity to bestow the love of God to someone else?
I guess it's really been burdening me lately... We're so wrapped up oftentime in doing God's work or seeking for happiness and fulfillment that we miss the little things; the stuff in our life that comes across hard or as a burden we shirk and get angry about... almost as if God's got to work and use us just as we see fit in order for us to be happy with His ministry.
People give up love and friendship so they can persue a dollar or a fortune... and they throw away a fortune that money can't buy without even missing it -- People won't walk an extra mile for a friend unless that person sees them as a friend... Didn't Jesus say something about how even enemies do nice things for their companions? Can't we be a friend to somebody who hates us? So many of us have got our own little worlds in a glass bubble, living life thinking that everything's about giving and reaping gain. Well folks, that's just wrong. What will it take for us to see that the greatest harvest is oftentimes the invisible reward of loss?
It's so sad really... almost all of us I think - almost all of us would trade in love, friendship, sacrifice -- we'd trade all of these priceless gems for a lump of gold or a popularity flash... We talk about going the extra mile and turning the other cheek - but if we really do all these things, why do so many of us get upset when we actually have to do it?
I'm not just ranting... It's just a priceless point that we'd be so blessed by seeing... if you could just take a minute to let that love of God fill your heart and help you overlook wrongs and find happiness in hard times... it would help both you and everyone -- and it would bring the world one step closer to harmony and true peace.
God help us to really love the world and each other as Jesus would.
