Do you ever think about being a Christian in ancient times?

If you were a Christian in the time of the apostle Paul, what would your average day be like?

A quadrans for your thoughts!;)

I'd read everything I could. I'm hoping I'd be literate in Greek, Hebrew, and Latin.

No. I am too busy living right now to think on other times.

Do you ever daydream about being a Christian in ancient times?

If you were a Christian in the time of the apostle Paul, what would your average day be like?

Life for Christians in the time of Paul was one of extreme poverty, struggles and persecution. Needless to say, as a result, the Church was much more vigilant (and faithful as a whole) than the sleeping Church of today. Individual Christians would have be looking forward far more towards the "blessed hope" than are, it seems, Christians today. It was a dangerous thing to count yourself among the despised "Christians" and "counting the cost" would have been more of an issue facing converts of that time unlike certain times in our day when it was very fashionable to call oneself a Christian. Back then, it would have increased your chances exponentially of being tortured and martyred for faith in Christ!

Hi Ray. :wave:Yes, I'm sure it was very much as the circumstances you describe. In what ways did those truths of life affect their daily struggle to survive?

Note: I edited "daydream" to "think" as I think that fits better IMO. (Thanks, TwinCrier)
