CNN correspondent Christine Romans in Washington, D.C., who reported: “On Capitol Hill, testimony calling for Americans to start thinking like citizens of North America and treat the U.S., Mexico and Canada like one big country.” Romans then showed brief excerpts of congressional testimony by Professor Robert Pastor, one of the six co-chairmen of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) Task Force on North America. “The best way to secure the United States today is not at our two borders with Mexico and Canada but at the borders of North America as a whole,” Pastor told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. “What we hope to accomplish by 2010,” Pastor continued, “is a common external tariff which will mean that goods can move easily across the border. We want a common security perimeter around all of North America, so as to ease the travel of people within North America.”

Iv'e heard about this movement - they figure if Europe did it we should too.

I think it is an ill thought out plan and if implemented will be the destruction of the USA.

If you go to spp.gov you will find that this has already occurred on paper. In 2005 Pres Bush, Vincent Fox, and the former Canadian PM signed an agreement in Waco that called for a United American Union. Check out the department of commerces website to learn more about it. The super highway that it currently being built is all a part of it. I learned about this on Israeli National Radio. Very interesting stuff but I'm personally against it. I believe it is setting up for a one world government run by the U.N. We all know how will the UN does in running things (HA, HA).
