Hi there :wave:

I'm Adiya. I'm a Sr. Moderator for the Support Team. I'm also the Chief Welcoming Angel in charge of a lovely group of posters, called the CF Angels. Along with those duties, I also help out part-time on the Debate team.

I love the Support Team. They're awesome folks!
The Debate Team are also wonderful people, and I'm so happy to be helping them out.
The CF Angel's were a creation of Christ's, given to me, which I suggested to staff. Erwin has been so kind to me, by making me the Chief Welcoming Angel. The CF Angel's are composed of posters who care about Christian Forums. They welcome new members in all forums, and in the CB. They provide a guiding hand to posters who need a little help figuring out CF. They also reach out to the lost, lonely, confused, and broken, just as Christ has called each of us to do. If you're looking for a friend, you can find one in a CF Angel.

If you need help from a CF Angel, please post your request in this forum: http://www.christianforums.com/f725-cf-angels.html or send me a PM. Thank you! :)

I have taken the time to explain this here, in hopes of answering many of your questions about CF Angels and myself. I do welcome all questions about CF Angels, about myself, and about the forums I moderate.

I have edited this first post, to add all of the above, and below you will see what was originally here:

This is where you can find out about me, or ask me something, or tell me something about you that you want me to know. This is a place for serious questions, silly questions, random comments, or random affection. I'm big on affection. If you want a hug, I have an extra laying around here some where, so ask, and ye shall receive. :hug:

I think I can learn just as much from you as you can learn from me. So, who's brave enough to make the first post here?

What's there about me to know. Hmmm. I'll give some random Adiya facts.

Random Adiya Fact 1:
I'm addicted to pretzels and mustard. Not just the soft ones, but the big crunchy pretzels, covered in salt, with a side of mustard. I usually have coke with them. That's my one bad snack, but I figure it's fat free, sugar free, and not too many calories, so it's all good.

Random Adiya Fact 2:
I absolutely love rain storms. When we're not having one here and I need to unwind, I put them on my playlist, and close my eyes. Then I can listen to them and relax. Love 'em.

Random Adiya Fact 3: I have a best girlfriend who makes me laugh so hard sometimes that I cry. She's so funny. Whenever I need a little pick me up, I call her and we laugh until we can't breathe, or until the people around us are wondering what's so darn funny. :D

That's it for now.

hi Adiya;
your username is very interesting. is there a history behind it?

Hi :wave:

Yes, actually.

In hindu it means "God's jewel; treasure."
In arabic form, it means "gentle, pleasing."
In hebrew form, it means "God's treasure. God's ornament."

My parents liked the meaning, and so it is.

I wasn't very clever when I registered. I just decided to just use my own. That's kind of a boring answer isn't it? ^_^ Sorry.

Yes, so much alike! :P I do happen to live in an area where we get some good rainstorms. We had some good thunder and lightning just couple nights ago. It was a beautiful sound, and the rain poured down too. I love that.

You like snow? So tell me, how is it driving in snow? I've never done that.

""
16th July 2006, 01:37 PM
Driving in snow is not too bad if you have snow tires. The hardest part is getting your car shoveled out of the snow, or shoveling your driveway so that you can get out. Once you get on the streets though, it's not too bad. City plows usually have it all plowed away and sanded or the chemicals are down. It's the ice that is dangerous, not really the snow. When the temp drops and the ice forms, then we're talking about another scene completely. Sometimes the streets are paved with sheets of ice that can't be seen with the eye, but you can feel them under your tires. That requires focused driving and a lot of "HELP ME JESUS!" He always comes through. :clap:

But for now, we're in the middle of hot summer weather. So there is nothing but beautiful skies, and clear roads to take me wherever I want to go. :)

Adiya! :hug: My fellow CB'er. :)

:wave: Hi Blake. It's nice to see you here.

What are 3 favorite Bible verses of yours?

I love John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

I also love Isaiah 40:31
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

and the 23 Psalm

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Have you read Psalm 105:1-5 lately? (I hadn't....but I just did.)

1 Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name;
make known among the nations what he has done.

2 Sing to him, sing praise to him;
tell of all his wonderful acts.

3 Glory in his holy name;
let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice.

4 Look to the LORD and his strength;
seek his face always.

5 Remember the wonders he has done,
his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced,

Sorry I missed that one. I spent it with my family (parents, siblings, and my son). We had a great time, and I probably gained 2 pounds over that entire week of turkey gobbling! ^_^ That was good for me though. I needed a few extra pounds. There's nothing quite like a turkey dinner to make you feel good all over.

Hi :wave:. What's your favourite Christmas memory?

I have a feeling that this year will be my favorite Christmas memory for a long long time to come.

You see, this year Christ healed me from cancer.
This year, my body was dying, but the Lord, in his tender mercy, reached down and touched me, healing me. Now, this CHRISTmas, I see Christ in all things. I am so thankful that He has given me more days to spend with my little boy, and my family. I am so honored to do Christ's work, and reach out to those in need.

Not only did He heal me but He provided, for me, a way to reach out to the lost, the lonely, and the hurting. I was so sick that I could not get out much (and my body is still pretty weak, but I am getting stronger every day!), and so He gave me the idea for the CF Angels. He is the reason we have the CF Angel's here on Christian Forums. He is the reason I was put in charge of them. He is the reason that I get to reach out to people who need Him so desperately, and/or who just want a friend.

This CHRISTmas, I am blessed beyond measure, and so so so very happy to tell you all that my life, and my salvation, have been the greatest gifts that I have ever received. My child, is right up there with them.

Thank you for the lovely question. :hug:

I think it's a beneficial mineral in that it helps prevent damage to the arteries, as well as being an excellent booster for calcium. It lowers the risks of heart attacks, and strokes too (mainly because of the good work it does on the arteries).

Do you have a life scripture? One that you use to help get through life.

I have many favorite verses, but there are two that have gotten me through this past year that mean a lot to me.

Here is one:

"No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their vindication is from Me," declares the LORD." Isaiah 54:17

"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint" Isaiah 40:31

Oh gosh, let's see.

I have a DVR and I record my favorite shows. Usually Tuesday and Wednesday nights are the nights that I watch tv.

My son and I like to watch Billy Graham Classic Crusades, and another show called Fulton Sheen. Both are on the Trinity Broadcast Network (TBN) and we record them on DVR specifically so we can watch them at night, together. Fulton Sheen was Archbishop Fulton Sheen and he had a tv show called "Life Worth Living" in the 1950s. The Trinity Broadcast Network, broadcasts his show from the 1950s now, and this is the one that I record. It is the same with the Billy Graham Classic Crusades. They are from the 1950s - 1970s. We love to record those and watch them also.

We usually watch them on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Then we also like to watch the American Idol show those nights too at 8pm. I detest the name of that show "Idol", but the show is pretty harmless. It's a fun show, and we can always use more fun in our lives. ;)
