hey folks! i'm donating my car to charity and I was wondering if any of you could supply me with ideas of where the money should go.

causes i support (but not limited to these):
foreign missions
the persecuted church
adoption
inner city aid
disaster relief
pregnancy centers
breast cancer research
help for the poor
orphanages
and anyone who helps those truly in need for the Kingdom

Do you folks know of foundations, schools, or other non-profits that could use a lot of help right now? i'm kind of trying to avoid the big ones and finding a small, more struggling organization that needs the money, but anywhere is fine.

I need to decide in the next week....

shalom!

The only problem is that smaller charities won't know how to make money on your car. What about the Salvation Army? I've stepped up my giving to them since they have been early on the scene of past disasters. :)

I would second the Salvation Army suggestion - they do provide services for a lot of things on your list. And they are big enough to be able to use the car donation.

You could call the woman's shelter and find out if there are any women there who is in desparate need of a vehicle to start over with.

oh let me explain :)

i'm using a 3rd party to handle the car. the money goes to the charity directly after they assess the value of the car and perhaps auction it off.

that's who will be picking up my car.

Is there a local AGRM (http://www.agrm.org/) mission? If so, I'd recommend them.

Listing for Illinois: http://www.agrm.org/missions/IL.html
