I here that Islam is on the rise in Etheopia both numerically and in financial...how does the church there intend to take on the challenge of Islam? How could Christians in the west help?

In the Past most of the Ethiopeans were christians and belong to the Church of Alexandria - the Coptic Orthodox Church , and the Ethiopean Emperor enthronement was in the Church by the Coptic Orthodox Metropolitan , I hope the Ethiopean Orthodox Church return back to its glory .

The problem of nations being divided into Christian and Muslim groups is a continent-wide problem in Africa. Ethiopia is just a corner of the whole situation.

That said, I've noted that for the most part the religious differences are overlayed on ethnic difference. That is to say ethnic groups that didn't get along to begin with have become alternately Christian or Muslim as a further expression of their hostility towards one another.

I'm curious if Ethiopia follows this pattern with some minority groups promoting Islam against the dominant Christian groups?
