Hi
I'm not Oriential Orthodox. I was raised in the Church of Christ. Currently I'm investigating various churches looking for one to call home. Right now I'm leaning towards Eastern Orthodoxy, but I'm interested in learning about your church too.
Maybe working on the wiki article with you and others could help us both?
Sorry if this is presumptuous of me.

Ok, great. Thanks. :)
How would you like to start? I guess we'd want to cover things like history, beliefs, and organization, and include some links to some good and/or important sites about Oriential Orthodoxy.

I think you Should read about the OO Churches before we start , so lets start by " The Church of Alexandria - The Coptic Orthodox church "
this links are useful about The Church of Alexandria - The Coptic Orthodox church , please read it well and ask about anything you want to know before we start

Oh, absolutely. I was intending to read up on stuff before I wrote about it. And then to maybe post it up here or something before I added anything to the wiki article. I was just trying to get a better idea of what subjects we wanted to focus on in the article, because I think you have such a rich tradition that obviously we won't be able to cover everything. Just trying to organize my thoughts.

Thanks. Those look like some good resources with lots of information. Definately got some reading to do. :) We're not in a hurry, right?
Just trying to understand how we're going to approach this: were you thinking this article would be more about the Oriential Orthodox churches generally or each of them seperately?

we are not in hurry , also i wish to make the wiki express all the OO as one family , so at first we need to put an introduction about the OO churches then talk about each church seperately , but we can add the introduction later , we now can concentrate on the Alexandrian church , its history , dogma , sacrements ,liturgies , traditions , monasticism ( the first monk in the world was the coptic monk St. Anthony the great the father of all the monks ) ,worship ,saints , icons , art ,popes , Christological dialogues between OO and others .. etc.

I don't know. Depending on how much the churches within Oriental Orthodoxy have in common (I do not know this at present) and how much we go into detail about each, it might work better to have the OO article to just be about OO in general as a family and to have seperate articles for each of the churches. I really don't know at this point. I suppose we could continue like you were saying and then if we decide it would be better as seperate articles we could split it into multiple articles then. How does that sound?

All the OO churches are in communion with each others and believe in the first three councils and in the same dogma, but every church of them has its own history and traditions , liturgies , language , art , icons , the OO Churches have a very rich history and traditions

Ok. I'll try to keep you posted. That was a lot of stuff to read through and I do have other stuff going on, but I still think it'll be interesting project and still intend on working on this with you. I'm sorry if I'm moving to slowly.

Hi :)
I've been reading some at those websites you gave me, but that's about all I've done for the wiki article. It's all been very interesting so far, but I am going rather slowly.
My grandfather died in June and my husband is looking for a job. I don't mean to use these as excuses, but I suppose I am a little mixed up right now. I guess I was hoping that keeping busy might help, but I think I may have bit off more than I can chew and so I'm not getting things done. I'm sorry.
I'd still like to work on the wiki article, but I do realize I'm being dreadfully slow. If you want to go on without me I'd understand. Either way I still intend to research the Oriential Orthodox Church some more. :)
Oh it's great that there's someone else who will help too. Who is he?
