Commitee members have to be paid so a PAC should be formed to get legislatiure for funding. I absolutely refuse to delete anything unless I'm compensated for it.

You also have to come up with an outrageous reason for the committee to argue about deleting the thread!

Oh, I'm sure given enough time someone here will write something that will raise the ire of the moderators and they will have to delete it. Should we have a warning thread as well? ;)

Who needs outrageous reasons to argue things? I mean, we MUST at least take a vote - we had to take a vote on the color of carpeting and tile - with suggestions from ALL members of the congregation who wanted input into the decisions.
Hmm, so, all we need is one disagreement - and I think we've got that!

before we form a committee for regarding the deletion of the deleted thread, i think it would be prudent to put together a focus group to see what the general consensus regarding deletion is in our virtual congregation. only after a focus group has been created to guide the committee can the committee properly discern what direction to head. after all, Jesus was rather silent on the issue of deletion.

I'm not sure this newfangled contemporary deleting is the way to go. I have heard that in scripture and the confessions that the correct way to get rid of something is by blotting.
Therefore, I move that the assembly remove this thread by blotting, as it is the clear teaching from scirpture.

But Marv, blotting isn't speaking the language of the conteporary culture. If we keep blotting, and not deleting, we will make ourselves irrelevant to the people who most need us. Blotting must change or die!

Nobody has really come up with the cruxis of the deleting situation and that is where does it go after deletion. Does it go to deletion heaven like dog heaven or does it go to the great big recycle bin in the sky? These are pertinent theological questions. This ties in with why am I here and what is the purpose of life. To delete or not delete, that is the question!!!

It seems that both the scriptures and the confessions are rather silent on the deletion or blotting out of deleted threads, thus it is aidiaphora in some sense, though not helping any with worship. . .it is still indifferent - have we checked any of the documents from other counsels? Perhaps they address the issue of deletion. How about the apocrypha?

Yes. 1Mac. says -
30 If after these terms are in effect both parties shall determine to add or delete anything, they shall do so at their discretion, and any addition or deletion that they may make shall be valid.
So, I guess the deletion of the post is valid regardless of our committees, moderators or budget.

Well, since Maccabees is not an inspired text, I would say that my exegesis concerning the Apocripha ends. :)
And concerning amounts of parties here ... I would say that if each party formed a denomination, we would put Baptists to shame. :)
Thanks, :)
