This is an official moderator post
As I am sure you are all aware the General Convention of the ECUSA has been taking place this week. There are understandably a wide range of emotions that members are feeling. Unfortunately one result has been a large number of posts in breach of the forum rules. It is therefore important to remind all members what is and what is not acceptable posting behaviour.
First of all since ECUSA's convention is a contentious issue among Anglicans, non-Anglicans should avoid weighing in on either side, neither with debate of their own, nor with support for any contender. Such posts are violations of rule 1.4; they will be deleted and may lead to the poster being warned.
Secondly if report is received regarding any thread that deals with the General Convention then it will be closed immediately. This is unfortunate but necessary considering the huge number of reports which are being received at the moment and the relatively small number of mods. We will endeavour to reopen all closed threads once any offending posts have been deleted.
The forum rules will be strictly adhered to during this time. I ask that all posters ensure they are familiar with the forum rules (http://www.christianforums.com/faq.php?faq=rule_3#faq_staff_protocol). The forum rules can be found http://www.christianforums.com/rules. Unless the circumstances are exceptional, the warning protocol (http://www.christianforums.com/faq.php?faq=rule_3#faq_staff_protocol)from the rules will be followed strictly: you will receive a contact on a first offense, a warning on a second offense, and a temporary forum-specific ban from STR if repeat offenses create a need to promote peace.
In the meantime may these words from St. James rest on all of our hearts:
How great a forest is set ablaze by a small fire! And the tongue is a fire. With it we bless the Lord and Father, and with it we curse those who are made in the likeness of God. From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this ought not to be so.
