Not yet he hasn't.
He's busy crafting some sort of confusing statement that will further prolong this and leave those on both sides thinking he is on their side...anxiously waiting on the "Rowan code" lol.....

Should we start putting bets on how many words he's going to use which noone but him has any clue what he means.

My starting offer is 10 for every 200 hundred words. Can anyone raise me?

This is an official moderator post.

Since ECUSA's convention is a contentious issue among Anglicans, non-Anglicans should avoid weighing in on either side, neither with debate of their own, nor with support for any contender. Such posts are violations of Christian Forums rule 1.4: they will be deleted and may lead to the poster being warned.

Whether you are Anglican or not, the Christian Forums rules against flaming, baiting and defamation; and all other Christian Forums rules; continue to be in force in threads relating to ECUSA's General Convention as in all other threads. The rule against flaming "groups of members" applies equally to disaffected or disappointed members of ECUSA who might be inclined to flame ECUSA; and to those who are satisfied with any outcomes who might be inclined to flame subgroups or lobbies within ECUSA.

In particular please note that, regardless of your position on the issues facing this convention, ECUSA identifies itself as a Christian group and you may not state or imply that they are non-Christian.

Flaming, baiting, defamation, or any other violations of Christian Forums rules will result in General Convention threads being closed until all violations have been removed; and may lead to the posters' being warned..

I would like to use this opportunity to voice my respect for the Archbishop Rowan Williams, and to suggest that we all pray as opposed to ridicule.

Sorry. :sorry:

I do have a tremendous ammount of respect for the ABC but must admit to a sneaking suspicion that what he does for half of his day is just sit in his study inventing new words.

Hrm. I have a sneaking suspicion that you have had little experience in leadership positions.

Try being ABC for a day. Or at least imagine it. I can't imagine how many directions that man is being pulled.

Should be only one - towards Christ!

Of course i would be useless. I would be far too rash with any decisions.

Rowan is our Archbishop however and if he is not going to be the one to provide is with leadership then who on earth will? He is in an incredibely unenviable position but he agreed to all this. Can't he see that Anglicans everywhere, especially in the CofE, are screaming out for direction and where is he? He is our leader, our Archbishop and yet he seems more interested in writing yet another book foreword than giving his people the pastoral support we so desperately need.

The problem is, everyone pulling on the ABC's shirtsleeves thinks he or she is following Christ. And many (such as you) keep saying that we're obviously not moving in the same direction.

But the solution to being pulled in multiple directions isn't just to stand still.

I would propose that we can find the mind/will of Christ in Scripture...
