Is it possible to make tables transparent?
Explain,please.
I'd like my profile table to be like this.

Do you mean the tables in the non-html part of your page?

Yes,we're able to change its color,but can it be made transparent or invisible?
I saw one member who had what looked to be a translucent purple table background,but I've no idea how she achieved this.

I think I saw that too. I thought that it was actually just a lighter version of the other background on site.

Can't say I can answer this ? knowledgeably, but my guess is you can't. Have you tried just leaving the table color blank?

I thought the same thing.
If you leave it blank,it gives you the default white.

I know! I have tried all the HTML tricks that I can think of and so far there is no way to get transparent tables. I would love it if we could though. I have some great backgrounds!!

What do you mean transparent - why not just use the same color/or background image as the page background?

What do you mean transparent - why not just use the same color/or background image as the page background?Because there are several boxes within that table that fragment your background image if it isn't a solid color.;)

Try this for profile transparency! Let me know if it works

table table table {background:transparent;}
table table table td { background-color:black;
filter:alpha(opacity=80); -moz-opacity:0.8; opacity:0.8; -khtml-opacity:0.8; }
table table table table td {filter:none;}

You mean to just insert this into the field for table background?

try entering it in the html homepage section

I don't think it worked.
Should I input extra code to beginning and end of this?

I found something different... I put the word "transparent" in the table background color field... now the fire part of my page starts up where it says ImHisServant's Homepage instead of way down like it was. It didn't help the profile part... but still an improvement

Not the way I see it... when your homepage begins the table looks grey and the border has the flag image. I thought you wanted the whole thing to be the flag image. I guess I don't fully understand what you are wanting.

You don't see the flag behind my username on the page?I do.
I am wanting the profile table to show what's behind it.

ImHisServant

Yes I do see it behind your name... but not on your profile. That is what I said but in a different way. I still haven't figured it out... Did you do that 2nd thing I said about putting transparent in as the color?? At least that will work after the signature part.

I see what you mean now.
If I do that,my profile tables return to default color,but my homepage HTML part is transparent.
I don't want the default table color anywhere.
Thanks for your help,though.

Is it still this way.I changed it before I posted above.
:scratch:
I did what you said and put "transparent" in the background field.
I didn't like that because it only makes the HTML part transparent.

I put transparent in both my body background and table background color options. It is still not what I wanted. I really just wanted the words to float on the background, but as for now I will make do with what I have. I love to tinker, but I have to admit, most of mine I cut and paste from sites that offer the codes. I am too lazy to type out all that!
