View Full Version : A suggestion to help with determining what is added to the amory

I was wondering if every amor request automatically was made in to a binary poll ('Do you want this item added to the amory?' yes/no).
That way it might be more possible to consider one item's popularity against another's.
A sticky might be added, so that when someone votes no, they should reply within that thread for their reason of saying no. If not then the 'no' vote may be disreguarded as it might be impossible to tell why the voter voted no.
Of course this is just a basic idea, I'm sure there are ways of improving upon it and hence ultimatly making the amory team's decisions easier. :)

Hi kopilo, thanks for the idea. :)
We've considered polls on items before, but ultimately rejected them out of concerns that the requests would simply become popularity contests, where the most popular members' requests are usually approved, and less well known members' requests are usually not approved.
A lot of factors go into deciding whether to accept an armor request. Potential popularity of the item is one factor, but hardly the most critical one. Making each request a poll would not significiantly improve the overall approval process.

Mm, yep fair enough, thank you. :)
The server load of haivng more polls would also potentially slow down the system.
I could quote you as mentioning the balancing act of deciding what gets in and what doesn't. Have you also thought of placing what you use as criteria as a sticky? Or do you feel that people would limit their creativity because of being able to see what is kind of the bar?
