I refer to this previous announcement:
http://www.christianforums.com/t3025487-phase-8-ministerial-oversight-and-decentralising-of-staff-appointments.html
which indicates the appointment of ordained ministers in our Executive Committee to provide spiritual leadership and accountability for the site.
We already have an ordained pastor of a messianic church, P_G, and ordained elder of a Protestant church, drstevej, and ps139, a Catholic (we don't have any ordained Catholic priests or deacons on staff or even in our membership that we know of). They are all from the US. I am not ordained but I am an elder of my local church, a non-denominational church.
We are pleased to announce that we now have Abiel, an ordained officer of the Salvation Army, from England. She has been a staff on this site for a while now. Ordained women are uncommon, and Abiel has been an amazing member of this community. I am sure having her on the Executive will help this site to maintain its vision and keep us all on track. Having a woman representative is great, and having someone from the UK is also helpful to bring that perspective. She will be handling all the second level appeals of Admin appeal decisions. I am sure she will do this fairly and competently.
By having recognised leaders of different churches in the top leadership of this site, we hope to provide proper spiritual oversight and covering for this site which we see as a ministry in its own right.
The ideal would be to also have an ordained Catholic and an ordained Orthodox priest on the Executive and we are on the lookout at the moment.
I will be posting up our revised rules soon. I will also be appointing acting HR and Information/Public Relations Admins soon as well (I accidentally deleted one of the files on the server so I can't do this until after work - serves me right for trying to do this from work).
Thanks for all your prayers, and we hope to continue to grow this ministry in Christ.
