This weeks parsha Emor (Leviticus 21-24) (http://www.tachash.org/metsudah/v08t.html)

Clearly states cohanim are not to make bald spots on their heads ( do you know someone who shaves their head?) mar the edges of their beards ( know anyone with a goatee or a pointed bit of hair on their chins?) or cut gashes into their flesh ( know anyone who cuts themselves?).

Why shouldn't you do these things?

G-d told Moshe: They shall be holy unto their G-d, and not profane the name of their G-d.

Did Peter not say, "It is written , Be ye holy; for I am Holy"

And didn't John tell us ( to the 7 churches) in his revelation:

And from Yeshua HaMoschiah, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, and hath made us kings and priests unto G-d and his Father: to him be the glory and dominion for ever and ever, Amein!

Priests = cohanim
