I am leaving TAW probably for good.
If you want to find me, I might post a little in OBOB, so you can still reach me by PM, or over at byzcath.org which is being moderated by wonderful Orthodox Priests, some of whom serve as administrators. I cannot recommend a better website for Orthodox Christians and inquirers.
Anyway, I have accepted to serve as a moderator at a wonderful site where the only rule is 'be kind'.
This is simplicity at its best, which follows the golden rule set down by Christ,
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul, and your neighbor as yourself.
My grad studies are very time consuming too. So, good-bye and know that I'll be praying for you.
In Christ,
Elizabeth
Edit Clarification:
I am not a mod at byzcath.org and never have been.
I remain only a humble and grateful user at that awesome God-inspired forum.

God bless you and godspeed. You know where to find me and should know how to reach me. The move is probably going to consume too much of my time for me to post much after the next week or so.

Even though I'm new and haven't interacted with you much, I just wanted to say I'll miss you. I'm sorry you feel a need to leave. I hope you find what you're looking for. Thank you for your kindness here.

   . I will truly miss you Aria. Your one of the first memebers I ever met here at TAW. I will miss your presence at TAW, as one of the remaining pillars of the forums. Everybody is leaving :( I don't know what to say. :( :(
Hopefully I'll see you over at ByzCath occasionally

You're leaving?!
Is this the site you are moderating?http://www.byzcath.org/bboard/ultimatebb.php
After much searching I found out I'm a member, just never posted.
I'm sorry to see you go but I understand given the confusion of CF and your grad studies.
Hope to see you soon.

God bless you Elizabeth, I'll miss you around here. I hope you make a better moderator than I did on another forum. It can be a pain as you are pretty much required to read through all the threads you'd much rather avoid :P

Thanks for all your kind compliments.
At the forum in which I moderate, I have been entrusted with a spam seek and destroy mission.
We don't have filters like CF must have. So except for the spambots, it is comparatively light duty as of now. ;)

CF has no filters except for cuss words. The spam is all caught by members and staff.
I wish you the best. And hope you willl periodically let us know how you are doing.

Christ is Risen!
All my best wishes to you Aria. And many years!
I don't get the opportunity to get in here much these days either. Things are really hectic at the office, and I'm too bushed to log on when I get home.

From what I saw at byzcath.org, it looked like TAW is still the better forum for inquirers and maybe even for other Orthodox topics. Maybe I looked in the wrong place. Why do you recommend byzcath.org over TAW, i.e., why do you regard it so highly? (Just asking; no judgment being made.)

Since you asked, I will cautiously respond and I hope that this is not misconstrued to be a flame, because it is offered with love.
I find that the administrative Orthodox Hieromonks and Priests who are serving in positions of moderatorship at www.byzcath.org are giving wonderful priestly advice that we don't have here at TAW or CF. The two real priests who signed up for CF membership haven't returned in a long time, and as I recall, we weren't very charitable or very welcoming toward them.
I like the spirit of love that permeates most of the threads and posts at byzcath.org. Surely, there are the occasional sarcastic posters; however, there is an effort by all to be kind. And most importantly, jabs at either the Catholic and Orthodox Church are simply not tolerated there.
Since I came into Orthodoxy through the Eastern Catholic (Melkite) Church, and saw the sanctity of the membership there, I do value their contributions. If I had not been a member of a Melkite parish for two years, I doubt that I would be an Orthodox Christian today. When I converted to Orthodoxy, surely some of the Melkites were upset, but many secretly told me to pave the way for them to convert, and a few did follow in my footsteps.
And besides, there is intercommunion in the Middle Eastern countries, especially Syria, where the Melkites and the Greek Orthodox share churches and communion. Interestingly, the Melkite work with chant was and is still being used by the Greek Orthodox who relied on their seminal work to start chanting programs in English. This I was told by some prominent Greek Orthodox Clergy. So there is a lot of cooperation, and the seminarians from the Melkite Church did attend some classes at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Seminary. I don't know if this is still the policy because many Melkite Seminarians were converting to Orthodoxy.
I hope this helps.
In Christ,
Elizabeth
