Hi everybody,

I think the DVC can be what we make of it. Either, it can be a problem for the Body of Christ as falsities are spread, or we can act to turn it to our benefit by explaining the Truth of the facts. If we can explain in a suitable and even keeled way, we can help people who are ignorant regarding the fictional parts of the movie.

Here is one such tool. These are around the web, but this one is less in-your-face and is intended to refute proposed facts in the DVC movie and book. It is intended to focus on the easily refutable, through Church and secular histories. If you have a printer that will print to the edge of the paper, then no setting changes are needed. If your printer has a margin where it won't print (most older or less expensive printers), then you need to reduce the size to 95% to print.

God bless you,

Certainly do as you conscience tells you. But it might be helpful to watch the movie, because it's an excellent way to talk to your unbelieving friends about Christ. After finals week, I'm certainly going to read the book and watch the movie.

Even though I won't see either at the movies or on video
It wouldn't surprise me if it did great at the box office
Considering a big name star and a big name director!!

 Our pastor has the same thought, he will be starting a series of sermons based on this topic called; “Seek the truth.” I think it is a wonderful idea. He is great about taking every day situations and explaining how we can effectively witness through them. I think it is a positive approach!

This week the sermon is about "What is the Church, and can it be trusted?"

Next week it surrounds "What is the truth about Jesus and Mary Magdalene?"

I do plan to see the movie. I think it is wise to view some of these films, if they present questions, we should know the answers. We will have the ability to combat any "untruths" beforehand.Just my personal opinion though.

I find it interesting to hear Christians say they won't see that movie or read the book, which they are well within right to, don't get me wrong. But they will uncritically consume the Left Behind books, which are just as much fiction, just as much twisting of Scripture, just as much of a political agenda as Mr. Brown's book, with narry a peep. Anyway, I find that ironic.

That said, I probably won't see the movie, not because I don't want to but because going out to see movies with a 22 month old (and no child care, or family within 300 miles to babysit) isn't really doable right now. I do however want to go see MI: III but I digress.....LOL

I think this will be a good chance for evangelism, probably even better than the Passion. This movie will appeal more to the secular crowd, and they will hopefully want to investigate for themselves what the Truth really is. We just need to be ready.

I doubt I'll see it in the theaters, but I'll get it on DVD.

A little OT, but I think if they were going to make a movie out of one of Brown's books, Angels and Demons would have more appeal as far as action and intrigue. But it's not nearly as controversial.
