I read this book a year or two ago, and I was curious, has anyone here ever read it? I want to get an Orthodox perspective on this book by a Russian Orthodox American.
Peace,
Windlord.

Believe it or not!, that is one of the few books on iconography that I do not yet have in my vast library of iconographic works. What did you think of it?

I've read it! It's been a while, so I hope I'm talking about the right book. Don't worry, Michael, it's not really about iconography, so your library is not any less complete for its lack. I thought it was a very insightful introduction to Russian and American relations and would be very helpful to give to protestants trying to figure out just who these Orthodox Christians are and what was going on in Soviet Russia and all that. It's a little outdated, what with the fall of the Iron Curtain, but it's still insightful. I hope I'm describing the right book...

I think so.
You are right. It isn't so much about Iconography as it is about the idea that we ourselves are Icons of God, in that we are made in the Image of God.
