I just noticed the usual Western reenactments in Jerusalem and was wondering what sort of confusion there will be this Sunday  Are their any RC/Prot services in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher on what will be our Lazarus Sat/Palm Sunday ??

Unfortunately, politics seems to rule...

Understament of the year:

The Orthodox ritual of the "holy fire," performed alone by a patriarch in the tomb of Jesus, dates back at least 1,200 years, and a "miraculous" fire is mentioned in earlier texts. The precise details of the lighting are a closely guarded secret, but some faithful consider it an annual miracle.

The precise details of the lighting...the "ritual" of holy fire...

Man, they managed to completely leave out the part about the fact that the candles light without any means of lighting them, that it spreads about the church like lightening, and that it does not burn......hmmm.....Secular press garbage, anyone?

Yeah they just like to have TV specials about Gnostic things such as the "Gospel of Judas" and "The Divinci Code". They make big deals about these. They never do national TV shows about real miracles in the Orthodox Church.

But that's the time we are in..

I remember one time I was watching something, and in a commercial for what I think was the Grammy's, on the bottom of the screen at the end of the commercial this flashed on the screen...the year in Roman numerals followed by NATAS...kinda weird.
