Anyone here seen the new movie version of the Ten Commandments and, if so, what did you think of it? Personally I didn't care much for it. Seems like every time Moses heard from God, he acted like he was having a seizure or something. Plus they seemed to rush through everything. Not sure I cared for the way they portrayed God either. But it's just a movie and I like the original one better. Opinions?

I watched the movie and enjoyed the second night better than the first night. I agree that they portrayed Moses as soom kind of lunatic. The original was sooo much better. The orginial will be airing on ABC on Saturday night at 7:00pm EST.

Maybe they were trying to catch the essence of the fact that Moses was supposedly not the "leader" and "Speaker" kind of guy.

I am a fan of the old version, but I'm glad they made this one. Anything that gets the word of God out to the secular world is a step in the right direction for me.

Eh..I'd have watched it if The Rock was playing Moses.

"Can ya smeeeeeeell what the Moses is cookin'!!"

i enjoyed it. i thought it was missing a few important points though. they had the cloud by day but where was the pillar of fire by night? and when moses struck the rock with his staff, that was not what God instructed him to do. they completely left that out!

If I recall correctly there was one time when God did tell Moses to strike the rock for the water and another time when He told him just to speak to it. I'd have to try and find it to be sure.

Another little nitpick I had, since I prefer the KJV, is that God said His name was "I AM WHO I AM" instead of "I AM THAT I AM" as it does in the KJV. Course, that isn't going to bother some but it kind of bothered me.

Yeah, the orginal is going to be on Saturday, don't know if I'll be watching it, though. It's a big day, our church will be setting up at our civic center for the Easter service.
