The first seder I attended was in 1988, and I was so incredibly touched when they explained about the afikommen......that just like Yeshua, it's the middle matzo, it's broken, and wrapped up, and hidden....and then comes back to be the dessert (the best part of the feast)! :-)

I think of how purposeful G-d was when he planned these festivals and feasts. In the smallest details, He is there. Each discovery is another level of understanding for me about how perfect our Father is and how desperately He loves us and wants us to be in relationship with Him.

How he died on Passover, was buried on Unleaven Bread, and rose on First Fruits (of that year)....:wave:OK Tish,

You can't say you didn't ask for this...:D

In order for me to explain how I feel about Yeshua's role in the Passover, I have to explain the nature of the Sacred Feasts in the first place. In order to do that, I have to explain the nature of the promise! AND in order to do that, I have to explain the Hebrew context of these things... so I'll start with the promise! Please remember that this is a work in progress. I'll try to keep my mistakes to a minimum. Please feel free to PM me if I need to edit something.

The Promise of the Father to Provide a Redeemer - PART I

We find this promise within the blessings and curses spoken in the first few chapters of scripture:

Gen 3:9 KJV And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
Gen 3:10 KJV And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
Gen 3:11 KJV And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
Gen 3:12 KJV And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.
Gen 3:13 KJV And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
Gen 3:14 KJV And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
Gen 3:15 KJV And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
--------------------------------------------------------

This is the first occurrence of the promise of a Redeemer in scripture. I believe that there are signposts built into scripture that point the way to the truth. They are woven deeply into the very language of scripture and indeed are to be found in the definitions of the very letters of the Hebrew alphabet. I believe that these are things can be proven to the diligent student of the Word. In fact, I can say without reservation, that the Lord always rewards the diligent student of His Word.

Understanding the Hebrew word for promise is the beginning of understand the nature of the promise of the Father.

According to Strong’s Concordance, shaba is the Hebrew term for oath. Sheba is the term for seven and saba is the term for fulfillment. They are spelled exactly the same and vary only in pronunciation. This would indicate a relationship between those three words: (shaba) oath, (sheba) seven and (saba) fulfillment.

The explanation of the concept and definition of the Hebrew term for seven is well represented at Biblewheel.com. Here is an excerpt from that site. http://www.biblewheel.com/Topics/Seven.asp
Sheba is closely related to two other tri-literal roots spelled with the same three consonants that differ only in vowel points. Thus, there are three Hebrew roots that look identical. Here are three representative entries from Strong's Concordance.

Strong's # ----------- Meaning

S# 7646 saba: satisfy, fill, full, plenty, satiate
S# 7650 shaba: sware, charge, oath
S# 7651 sheba: seven

The tri-literal root (Shin - Bet - Ayin) therefore carries three fundamental meanings:
1) Seven
2) Full/Complete
3) Oath/Sware.

These three ideas are found associated throughout the Bible. For example, the reason for seven angels with seven final plagues is explained in terms of fullness in Revelation 15.1:And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.

Thus we have one very obvious answer to our question:
God marked the Bible with the Number Seven because it is the fullness of God's revelation!

Yet there is more, much more. The relation between the Number Seven and the idea of an oath is explained in the passage from Genesis 21 quoted at the head of this page. This is especially insightful because these passages reveal the etymology of Sheva/Sheba in the surface text of Scripture. Here, the Bible is serving as its own etymological dictionary.

Genesis 21, which corresponds to Shin within the chapter sequence of Genesis, gives a detailed introduction to the various meanings of the Shin KeyWord (Sheva/Saba). I begin with the question posed by the verse (21:29) itself "What is the meaning of these seven ewe lambs?" The next verse gives the answer: And he said, For these seven ewe lambs shalt thou take of my hand, that they may be a witness unto me, that I have digged this well. Wherefore he called that place Beersheba; because there they sware both of them.

The name Beersheba means Beer (well) of the Sheba (Oath). Thus Scripture clearly displays the Number Seven with its associated meaning of Oath, and we have another very obvious answer to our question: God marked the Bible with the Number Seven because it is His Oath! His Promise! His Covenant!

The three Hebrew letters that make up this word are Shin, Bet and Ayin respectively. The definitions of these letters from the Proto-Hebraic are a remarkable lesson in scriptural etymology.

The Shin is the 21st letter of the Hebrew Alephbet and it’s original configuration did not represent a crown with three points; it represented two front teeth. The approximate meaning associated with this letter was to devour, consume or destroy. Scripturally, does that remind you of anyone? For those that think of Leviathan, remember that in Hebrew, Levi means "joined to" and Tan means "Serpent" or "Dragon".

The second letter is the Bet, the second letter in the Hebrew alephbet and it is associated with household, family and the heir. The Strong's # for BET is 1004 - from 1129 - house, household, home, within, temple, family. The ROOT #1129 is "banah" - to build, establish, cause to continue, obtain children, and are from whence the two Hebrew words for SON come. They are ben and bar spelled in Hebrew BET/NUN and BET/RESH.

Remember, children or HEIRS are synonymous with BLESSING in scripture. (Psa 127:3) For God to BLESS your seed, was to bless you. BET is not just a house or building, but also what is INSIDE, like family, heirs, and all the BLESSING that goes with it. In spiritual terms, this concept quickly translates to the Son. He is of course the ultimate Heir, the promised Kinsman Redeemer and the fulfillment of the promise of Genesis 3:15.

The last letter in the Hebrew word for promise, seven and/or fulfill is the AYIN. It is the 16th letter of the Hebrew Alephbet. AYIN means "EYE" in Hebrew, and we still retain an almost identical word for eye in the English. It also means "fountain" or "spring". The ancient letter was a picture of an EYE. The more familiar "square" script for the letter AYIN, is said by the Hebrew scribes, to be made up of an upright zayin and an enlongated yod. The letter zayin is a sword/plow and the letter yod is a HAND…….so in the letter AYIN we have an upright sword in the hand, a picture of a WATCHMAN.

The "EYES" (ayin) in Hebrew thought are rich in symbolic meaning. Very often what is meant by the "eyes" is something very spiritual. In fact, the very FIRST use of the word AYIN is in this spiritual sense. It occurs in the verse where Adam and Eve have eaten from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and their "EYES(ayin) were opened". Certainly more than physical sight is meant here.

Aside from the obvious, what I find remarkable about this word is it’s relationship to Genesis 3:15. The seed of the Serpent, the seed of the woman under the watchful eye of the Father are all spoken of in that verse.

Similarly, these letters that indicate a relationship between the concepts of the promise, the seven and the fulfillment represent the components of that verse. That is remarkable. What is even more remarkable is how the promise of a Redeemer is fulfilled in the sevens found in scripture.

In relation to this promise of a Redeemer, He made SEVEN covenants that directly correlated to the SEVEN days of creation. These covenants were sealed with SEVEN seals and marked with SEVEN tokens. All of these SEVENS and their themes are to be found in the enactment of His promise, represented by the SEVEN furnishings of the Tent of Meeting, and the SEVEN Sacred Feasts of the Sacred Calendar of Torah.

Next I will attempt to illustrate the relationship between the progression of the promise and the:
SEVEN days of creation...
The significant fact here is that the theme of each covenant and it’s enactment in the promise is characterized in what was created on the particular day.
SEVEN covenants...
It is helpful to view the covenants as individual contracts that move an individual toward a stated goal (read promise in this case). We see the same thing in the business plan of a corporation, where the goals of the corporation are enabled by the contracts that are secured
SEVEN seals...
A contract is sealed based upon its terms. There are the obvious benefits that apply when all parties fulfill their part of the bargain. The seals listed in the Revelation are for when the recipients DO NOT fulfill their end of the contract. After all, there need be no provision for the Father’s failure…
SEVEN tokens, signs or marks...
We know from Ezekiel 9 that the Proto-Hebraic Tav (the cross) is the "mark" of the Father. The letter in Hebrew and it’s derivative in English resemble it exactly. There are many words in Hebrew where the additions of a Tav to the beginning of the root word change the meaning to the "mark of" that root meaning. There are many words where, the fact that they end with a TAV is more significant, particularly those having to do with the covenant. The Hebrew word for covenant is b'riyT. The Hebrew word for a token of a covenant is owT. ALL the Hebrew words that are tokens of the various covenants end with a TAV - knowledge (daT), bow (quesheT), foreskin (orloT), Sabbath (ShabbaT), kingdom or dominion (mal-kooTh'), cut-off (kaw-raTh') and house (beT). There are SEVEN all together.
SEVEN furnishings of the Tent of Meeting...
These furnishings show to us, the things that we need to do in order to get back to a right relationship with the Father. They are sacrifice, cleanliness, fruitfulness, etc. There is a month’s worth of teachings in these articles alone, so I will leave my initial statement to stand on it’s own merits.
SEVEN Sacred Feasts
These Feasts show us the things the Father has done and will continue to do for us in order to fulfill His promise to redeem us from our sins. He will accept our inadequate sacrifices. He will accept our futile attempts to cleanse ourselves. He will accept the less than perfect fruit of our efforts, etc. He will then take them and make them perfect by the work of His Son on our behalf.

Stay Tuned...

The Promise of the Father to Provide a Redeemer - PART II

Please remember that REDEMPTION is a legal battle occuring in the Court of the King concerning the rightful DOMINION of the Earth and His children.

The first day Elohim Creates – Light
Gen 1:1-3 KJV
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

Light is used as an idiom for understanding in scripture. For instance, scripture is illuminated when we come to understand it’s meaning. The Redeemer is the Light of the World indicating that He brought with Him, the knowledge of God. We often hear that someone’s knowledge shed some light on the subject, etc.

First Covenant Recipient – Adam
Gen 2:15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
Gen 2:16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
Gen 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

First Covenant Type – Sacrifice
Gen 3:20 The man called his wife Eve (Chavah), because she was the mother of all living.
Gen 3:21 The LORD God made coats of skins for Adam and for his wife, and clothed them.
The Lord sacrificed animals to make a covering for man.

As soon as the "first Adam" sinned, the Father sacrificed animals (shed blood) to make a covering for His children.

First Covenant Token– Knowledge
Gen 2:16-17 KJV
15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

First Covenant Seal – Dominion
Rev 6:1 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.
Rev 6:2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

First Feast – Passover
Exo 12:5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:
Exo 12:6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.
Exo 12:7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.
Exo 12:8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
Exo 12:9 Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof.
Exo 12:10 And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire.
Exo 12:11 And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD'S passover.

Notice here that the Lord supplied a SACRIFICE as a COVERING for His children so that the Angel of Death (the wages of sin is...) would PASSOVER - even as He did in the garden!

First furnishing of the Tent of Meeting – Brazen Altar

Exo 27:1 And thou shalt make an altar of shittim wood, five cubits long, and five cubits broad; the altar shall be foursquare: and the height thereof shall be three cubits.
Exo 27:2 And thou shalt make the horns of it upon the four corners thereof: his horns shall be of the same: and thou shalt overlay it with brass.
Exo 27:3 And thou shalt make his pans to receive his ashes, and his shovels, and his basons, and his fleshhooks, and his firepans: all the vessels thereof thou shalt make of brass.

This is the first step for a believer to approach the presence of the Father. There MUST be an ATONING SACRIFICE to COVER the SIN.

Redemption is all about paying a price to redeem what is owed. The debt that mankind owes was laid out in the garden and the price was stated in Genesis 3. The terms of the debt are what was at issue.

I hope you are beginning to see a relationship between the various components of the promise (of the Redeemer) the sevens in scripture and the fulfillment of that promise.

OK, now on to day two...

The Promise of the Father to Provide a Redeemer - PART III

The Second day of creation - Elohim Separate Waters
Gen 1:6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
Gen 1:7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
Gen 1:8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

Second Covenant Recipient – Noah
Gen 6:17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.
Gen 6:18 But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee.

Second Covenant Type – Shalom
Gen 6:12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
Gen 6:13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

Second Covenant Token – Bow
Gen 9:11 And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.
Gen 9:12 And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:
Gen 9:13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
Gen 9:14 And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:
Gen 9:15 And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.
Gen 9:16 And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.
Gen 9:17 And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.

Second Covenant Seal – War
Rev 6:3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.
Rev 6:4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

Second Feast – Unleavened Bread
Exo 12:14 And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.
Exo 12:15 Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.
Exo 12:16 And in the first day there shall be an holy convocation, and in the seventh day there shall be an holy convocation to you; no manner of work shall be done in them, save that which every man must eat, that only may be done of you.

Leaven is the symbol of pride - the source of all sin.

Second furnishing of the Tent of Meeting – Brazen Laver
Exo 30:17 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Exo 30:18 Thou shalt also make a laver of brass, and his foot also of brass, to wash withal: and thou shalt put it between the tabernacle of the congregation and the altar, and thou shalt put water therein.
Exo 30:19 For Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet thereat:
Exo 30:20 When they go into the tabernacle of the congregation, they shall wash with water, that they die not; or when they come near to the altar to minister, to burn offering made by fire unto the LORD:
Exo 30:21 So they shall wash their hands and their feet, that they die not: and it shall be a statute for ever to them, even to him and to his seed throughout their generations.

Do you see the relationship between these "second" components of the promise? They are that of cleansing and shalom (peace and well being). The opposite of these components of the promise is violence, uncleaness and death.

The Promise of the Father to Provide a Redeemer - PART IV

Third Day of Creation - Elohim brings forth the land for the fruit and seed bearing plants
Gen 1:9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
Gen 1:10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
Gen 1:11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
Gen 1:12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
Gen 1:13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.

Third Covenant Recipient – Abram
Gen 12:1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
Gen 12:2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
Gen 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

Third Covenant Type – Fruitfulness
Gen 17:1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
Gen 17:2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.
Gen 17:3 And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,
Gen 17:4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.
Gen 17:5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.
Gen 17:6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.
Gen 17:7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.

Third Covenant Mark – Foreskin
Gen 17:10 This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised.
Gen 17:11 And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.

Notice here that the seed of Abraham must pass through the "token" of the covenant. That is how we know the covenant was not made with any other of his sons than Issac.

Third Covenant Seal – Fruitlessness
Rev 6:5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.
Rev 6:6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

Third Feast – First Fruits
Lev 23:10 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest:
Lev 23:11 And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it.
Lev 23:12 And ye shall offer that day when ye wave the sheaf an he lamb without blemish of the first year for a burnt offering unto the LORD.

Third furnishing of the Tent of Meeting – Table of Shewbread
Exo 25:23 Thou shalt also make a table of shittim wood: two cubits shall be the length thereof, and a cubit the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof.
Exo 25:24 And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, and make thereto a crown of gold round about.
Exo 25:25 And thou shalt make unto it a border of an hand breadth round about, and thou shalt make a golden crown to the border thereof round about.
Exo 25:26 And thou shalt make for it four rings of gold, and put the rings in the four corners that are on the four feet thereof.
Exo 25:27 Over against the border shall the rings be for places of the staves to bear the table.
Exo 25:28 And thou shalt make the staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold, that the table may be borne with them.
Exo 25:29 And thou shalt make the dishes thereof, and spoons thereof, and covers thereof, and bowls thereof, to cover withal: of pure gold shalt thou make them.
Exo 25:30 And thou shalt set upon the table shewbread before me alway.

When I think about the Passover sacrifice of Yeshua, His death on Passover (that His blood might protect us from the Angel of Death), His internment in the earth during the Feast of Unleavened Bread (humbly going back to the dust from whence we all came) and His resurrection of the Feast of Firstfruits (1Co 15:20 But now is Messiah risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.), I shout for joy at the thought of His victory and the promise of our Redeemer being fulfilled in His Sacred Sevens.

How he died on Passover, was buried on Unleaven Bread, and rose on First Fruits (of that year)....

Three years ago, I attended my first seder with my church. As the dinner progressed and the elements were explained historically on one hand, and how they pertain to Christ on the other, you could see in the faces of those sitting across from you a growing feeling of startled awe and appreciation of what was happening. See, we mostly had no idea of what the dinner entails. So, we all attended on grounds that it will be fun to celebrate a feast like Jesus did and have a fun cultural event, and to hear the story of passover and learn the lesson of G-d's loving mercy and all that. But nobody realized that the whole thing is about Christ. But as it all unfolded, people got really excited;wide eyes and wide smiles. It was all I could do to keep from bursting into tears through the whole thing.

That's about how I felt, too......overwhelmed, amazed.

This past Sunday morning I went to a "model seder" for the talmud-torah class at one of the synagogues.........then in the evening I went to see a re-enactment of Yeshua's death........and what happened was, in the morning, I saw that middle matzo being broken and wrapped and put away; in the evening, I saw Yeshua wrapped in a cloth and put in the tomb......  There isn't a good enough smiley for what I felt....but Amazing Love, how can it be, that you my Lord should die for me......what a redeemer......

When the children of Israel were in Egypt, they were given the instruction concerning Passover and told to put the blood of the lamb on the door so that the destroyer would pass over. What would have happened if that was the only instruction they acted on? They would not have left.....

If we can see Messiah in the moed of Passover how should we respond? As putting the blood on the doorposts was only the beginning of the journey out of Egypt, is not recognizing Messiah in Passover also another kind of beginning? Does it not demand a response beyond the recognition? The next moed after Passover is Unleavened Bread.

I have come to think of the moedim of Adonai as a communal calling to an internal activity :)

What does everyone think of when they realize Yeshua 's role in Passover
This is what my Passover Lamb took upon himself in my place.

My testimony

My name is Otto Strand
I was born in Norfork VA in 1953; my parents moved to Miami Fla in 1956. My Mom & Dad were good parents My Dad took me fishin, hunting, & camping. But when it comes to things of G-d my parents did not put much time into. I might have went to Church two or three times. I had no teaching of G-d. When I was 15 I had my first girlfriend, I was in love!. After 3 weeks she broke up with me. I was crushed, I said to G-d that night. “I hate you for allowing this hurt” This was the first time I even though about G-d. But at that moment there was an awakening in me that there was a G-d. At about the same time my Sister turned me on to smoking pot. This started a 6-year drug and alcohol abuse.
Each day started with smoking a joint (Marijuana cigarette) driving to a construction job.
Where at break time I would smoke more pot, Lunch time was the same thing, afternoon break same. After work I would go Disco dancing heavy drinking and sometimes popping pills. To help supply my drug habit I would sell drugs. I had friends who were killed, arrested, and overdosed on drugs. At one time I even smoked and sold drugs to an under cover cop. I guess I was just a middleman and he was after bigger fish. After about 5 years of this life style I was sitting on the roof of my apartment complex on a Saturday night. I looked up at the stares and said. “G-d is this all there is to life. Getting high, go to work and then get high again? God if your there let me know”.
It was 1974 and I went to see a play called “Jesus Christ Superstar” There was a seen where People with disease were pushing in on Jesus and asking him to heal me. Jesus yelled at the people stop pushing me there are too many of you. Leave me alone! I had little knowledge of who Jesus was. I new he was born at Christmas and died at Easter. After the play I started to ask myself. Did Jesus push people away? Was he as the play portrayed him? About this time I met this nice girl, Jackie. She was refreshing from all the girls I was use to hanging out with. We started dating. She was a Jewish girl that was raised Catholic. She too was having questions about G-d. She had a Good News Bible that we would sit and read and try to figure out what we were reading.
I had moved into a new apartment and meat a man and his wife Tom & Gill. And it did not take long before they started buying their drugs from me. In 1976 Jackie and I got marred. I keep up my drug use and would still sell to my friends. Tom & Gill had not come by my apartment for about 3 weeks; So, I went to their apartment to see how they were doing.
When I saw them there was something different about them. What was it? There was a glow or something?. “What’s up”, I asked. “You got some good dope”. They just smiled and showed me a new Bible. O-NO I said. Don’t tell me you guys are Jesus freaks! They
Tried to tell me about being born again. And ask me to come to Church with them.
”No way! am I going to a Church”. I did not see Tom & Gill for about 3 month’s. One day
They show up at my door. Otto & Jackie they asked would you come to some friends house with us. There will be a gaiter player from the group called “Black oak Arkansas”. This got my attention, I loved rock music. And I had a chance to meet a rocker. G-ds trap was set.
What I didn’t know was that the rocker was going to give his testimony and the house was part of the Vineyard movement. And the gentlemen that lead Tom & Gill to the L-rd
Would be there also. [Wade] Tom & Gill picked us up and we went. The Rocker sang some songs and then give his testimony. The gentlemen Wade sat down and talked to me. He laid out G-d’s plan for salvation from Genesis to Revelation. He spoke of things like sacrifice and blood Atonement, and how Jesus was our Sacrifice and one time blood atonement.
We talked for hours. He answered all my questions. Then he asked me! Would you like to ask Jesus into your heart right Now? “Now?. But I do drugs; I drink like a fish,
I use bad langue. I said, That’s O, K Wade said, don’t worry about that stuff. Come to him just as you are. So I said O, K. He leads me in a prayer, and I repeat what he say’s. The prayer is over, but I keep my head bowed and my eye’s closed. I’m thinking I want what
Tom & Gill have, but what will all my friends say. But tom & Gill look so happy & new,
But my friends. I want it, I don’t, I do, I don’t, do, don’t, do, don’t. I felt like I was about to explode. Then I threw both my arms in the air and yell. “JESES”. With my eyes still closed. I saw a hole open in my chest and a light comes out of me. I was standing in the living room looking at myself and could see the light come out of my back and my chest and out the walls. I was next standing in the street and could see this light going through the houses and down the street. I was next in space and could see the light going off into space. I open my eyes and it felted as if I had just taken a backpack off my back. My skin felt as if it was aglow. For month’s people would ask what was different about me.
When we were driving home that night, Wade said to me, that I should tell someone as soon as possible what happen to me tonight. I rolled down the car window and yell at some lady
Walking her dog. “Jesus saved me tonight!” When I got home I pulled up the 6 Marijuana plants and put them in the trash, I flushed all my pills’ and poured out the booze.
My life was changed that night. The craving for drugs, pills and booze was gone.
My old friends eventuality stop coming by. But the trade was worth it.
One week later Wade, Jackie, Myself, and another brother named Trace.
Went to a little food store to hand out tracks and to tell people what happen to me last
Weekend. We were handing out tracks when a Policeman drives up. I hand him a track
And he becomes irate with me for handing him some religious martial.
He starts accusing us of soliciting for money. He makes us stop handing out tracks.
I start telling people what happen to me last week. The police officer ask for our
Idenafaction, witch we hand over. He puts our driver Trace in his portal car and tells
The rest of us to go home. This we can’t do. We tell him because you put our driver in your portal car. He tells us to stop talking to people about Jesus or he will run us all
In. We keep sharing. Sundely! In front of the convenient stores there is a three-car accident. In about 30min there are now. 6 police cares and
2 ambulances. By this time people start gathering around to see what is going on.
Thanks to that angry police officer I got to shear with a lot more people than if he had not showed up. After the accident was cleared up and all the people left Trace was cleared and we all went home.
I begin to read the Bible with a new understanding and hunger. One day while I was reading my Bible I come to
Psalm 103:12
“As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.”
As soon as I read this I hear a small voice say, “I showed you this.”
It has not always been an easy walk with the L-rd. My wife and I have raised five children.
All Still Believers! One is a schoolteacher, one is a Police officer, one is going to collage to be a Doctor, Another one is in collage for science, and my Last one is about to finish High School.

I know that I have been given a FREE gift. And there is nothing I can or could ever do to deserve this free gift of my salvation. This is perfectly clear to me. In 1996 something started to happen to me that was as powerful as my salvation exspearrents. I started to wonder after reading. 1Corinthians 5: 8 “Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old yeast, the yeast of malice and wickedness, but with bread without yeast, the bread of sincerity and truth.”
Now I have read this scripture 100 times. But this time it jumped out at me.
“Let us keep the Festival”. Keep Passover? I was not keeping Passover. I went to my Pastor and asked, “ Why don’t we do Passover.” Because! He said, that’s OT teaching and we are free from all that. Wait a moment this is the NT. (Don’t rock the boat just keep rowing)
I called a local Synagogue and asked their Rabbi where I could find information about putting on a Passover Seder. He sent me to my Library. In 1996 I held my first Passover Seder.
In 1997 I held another Seder at home. And in 1998 I held a Passover Seder at my church.
My wife and I started asking more & more questions about the Jewish part of Christianity That was not there. I would ask “If Christianity come from Judaism why is there nothing Jewish in Christianity”? I never did get an answer. (Don’t rock the boat just keep rowing)
At each service the Pastor would always say something negative about Judaism.
In 1999 my wife and I found a Messianic congregation. Now I did get an answer to my question. “If Christianity come from Judaism why is there nothing Jewish in Christianity”?

Oh, Torah. You have blessed me twice in as many days.

That is exactly what I think of when I think of Yeshua, our Passover Lamb. And I'm in tears, even now, when I consider what he took upon himself for my sake.

But, as someone on the radio said, without the Resurrection, we have nothing but a dead Messiah! With the Resurrection we have a living G-d, our King of Kings!

There isn't a good enough smiley for what I felt....but Amazing Love, how can it be, that you my Lord should die for me......what a redeemer......Isn't that amasing!...And the middle Matzah is the one Yeshua broke and said "This is my body broken for .you .. do this is rememberence of me"Matthew 26:26-29 26 And while they were eating, Jesus took some bread, and after a blessing, He broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, "Take, eat; this is My body." 27 And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you; 28 for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins. 29 "But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father's kingdom." Mark 14:22-26 22 And while they were eating, He took some bread, and after a blessing He broke it; and gave it to them, and said, "Take it; this is My body." 23 And when He had taken a cup, and given thanks, He gave it to them; and they all drank from it. 24 And He said to them, "This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many. 25 "Truly I say to you, I shall never again drink of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God." 26 And after singing a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives. Luke 22:15-20 15 And He said to them, "I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer; 16 for I say to you, I shall never again eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God." 17 And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He said, "Take this and share it among yourselves; 18 for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine from now on until the kingdom of God comes." 19 And when He had taken some bread and given thanks, He broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me." 20 And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, "This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood. 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; 24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it, and said, "This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me." 25 In the same way He took the cup also, after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me." 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until He comes:bow:

How he died on Passover, was buried on Unleaven Bread, and rose on First Fruits (of that year)....

It never gets old...the joy, amazement, awe..He is so incredible that there aren't any words to describe His awesome glory. How every element is fulfilled in Christ just blows me away.

Someone else talked about their first Seder...my experience was similar. We knew, vaguelly, that Christ is our Passover Lamb...but we didn't know the entirety, not even close. And as we experienced it for the first time, it was simply astounding!
