You know, I'm not normally one to tie prophetic significance to weather, but

Tornados are rare in Israel. The occasional ones that have occurred have mostly taken place over the ocean and along the coast. (http://www.israelnn.com/news.php3?id=101520)

i read in the article that they have them about once every 100 years.

I think that our last hurricane season got alot of folks' attention too. Hopefully they are blowing the dust off their bibles and beginning to read them.

I have a set of science books that I inherited from my parents. They were written during the 1930's. I spent much time reading the book on meteorology as a kid. According to the book, tornados only occur in North America. Additional observations have shown that although tornados are most frequent in the central part of the US, they can occur in many diverse places in the world. The common wisdom was that tropical storms/hurricanes don't occur in the South Atlantic, until a hurricane hit Brazil a few years ago. I believe that the increase in observing stations along with more radar and satellites and camcorders in the hands of ordinary citizens has resulting in the documentation of many previously unrecorded or unreported events. Remember Job's children were killed by a "great wind" (Job 1:19).
