I know there are some Orthodox Jews in the Non-Christian area, but I tend to stay over here, these days. If no one can answer, I'll ask over there.
I live in an area with a large Jewish population, two reformed synagogues, an Orthodox one and an Orthodox day school within a 2 mile radius. I frequently see a woman in my neighborhood who wears a yarmulke. Normally, the Jewish women I see who cover their hair also wear long dresses. This woman doesn't really cover her hair in that manner and wears pants. She is the only woman I've ever seen wearing a yarmulke. Can anyone explain this custom or is this something non-traditional?
