Nothing really good comes easy so I always say yes. Christianity comes with its tasks. He never said this was a cake walk.

I think it is hard to be a "Christian" because of the fact you must have such strong faith. You have to believe in stuff that you can't really see with your own eyes, and by not seeing I mean LITERALLY seeing God. Its a very hard thing for people to grasp.

I love being a Christian. Loving God and having a relationship with Him is most definitely not hard. Sometimes I struggle myself in certain things, but no, I don't think Christianity is difficult.

I find it amusing that the people who say, "Christianity is a crutch," are the VERY SAME people who--on another occasion--will say, "Christianity is too hard to live."

As G.K. Chesterton once said: Christianity must be something truly great if, in trying to contradict it, people contradict themselves.

 As a non-christian for me life was easy. :holy: But once I become save I can't do the sinful thing that I use to. What makes hard for me is that sinful living is fun and enjoyable. Now that I'm out of that life there is still apart of me that long for that life again. :liturgy: The only thing that keeps me from falling back into that life is the word of god.

What makes hard for me is that sinful living is fun and enjoyable.

Sinful living is fun and enjoyable to you? Then I would suggest that you are living for God out of obligation and force, rather than your own choice. While we are all guilty of this at certain times, I believe that finding sin enjoyable is a sign we still are members of the world's system, and not transformed into the likeness of Christ.

So... before you were married, as an example, you had absolutely no interest in sex? It would have been completely boring? Of course people enjoy sinful living! That's why it can be so hard to overcome at some points! We aren't perfect, and anybody who says that they don't enjoy certain types of sinful living is flat out lying.

NOt being a Christian is hard. Anyone who is not a Christian don't know about salvation in Jesus and therefore is going to HELL. Being a Christian may be diffcult at times but, we know who we have believe in and we can go to HIM anytime and talk to HIM about anything.

Christianity is difficult from the world's perspective. But when we draw our strength from God, it is simple. Don't believe me? Then why did Christ say, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest...For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

I have lots of interest in sex. Just not unless I'm married to the woman. That's the difference. If you have sex with a woman you are not married to, it's proof that sex means nothing to you and you value it only for selfish pleasure.

I'm suggesting that become a christian does not supress my dire to return the life that I once live. I'm sure that somebody out there would agree.

yes it is difficult to be a christian especially if you want Jesus to be Lord of all

Yes, in this life it may be hard. But think about how much harder it is to be in eternal hell.

Think about that, hell is eternal. Even a trillion years doesn't begin to describe the length of hell.

I guess compared to eternal hell, being a christian is a cakewalk.

For alot of us, it would be harder for us to be non-christians because we just wouldn't be able to enjoy life because of fear of eternal hell without the forgiveness of Jesus.

Christianity isn't 'TOO' hard as the bible tells us that the Lord will never burden us with things that we can't handle, but he tells us that times will still be tough. It makes us stronger i guess.

I think its hard in a sence that we need to continue to die to our flesh and surrender everything to God. Not living for your own ways anymore.

"faith is the evidence of things not seen"HEB11:1, which means it is inherently difficult from the git go. it's hard to believe in a bunch of words written so long ago. BUT that is why the reward is so great!

In my earlier post, I said Christianity was a cakewalk compared to a life in hell. I guess that is truth.

However, maybe I shouldn't have said cakewalk. Right here, in this world and in this life, yes, Christianity is a challenge. We struggle against devils and satan who try to destroy is. We struggle with our flesh. It's a real war during this life (not against people of course), but against those things I just mentioned. We are even in a war for our very souls, because even Jesus said people will fall away from the faith and that only he/she who endures to the end shall be saved.

People in the world have no such worries, but they also have no idea of the horrible horrible fate that awaits them without Jesus' forgiveness.

I pray that we all may be strong in the Lord Jesus, and that we can bring as many people to heaven as we can.

I said yes, and only bc in this society today, the world makes it difficult for us to walk the straight path. Sin is sooo accepted and whatever we do seems to be wrong.

It's easy to be a normal Christian. it's hard to be a true disciple and servant and slave to Messiah Yeshua. To live according to G-d's teachings and desires is hard because we battle against our flesh.

But one day we will not have to be told to know G-d because all will know Him intimately! See Jeremiah 31

it can vary to what point you are in your life and what your going through, but in generally it's difficult because of all the sin, temptations and nonchristians in the world.

As Christians we are supposed to be diciples of Christ, the word diciple comes from the word dicipline. Therefore it should be hard some times. It's a test, but the reward is eternal life.

Yes, it's difficult because Satan is always on the attack and wants us to doubt and fail and fall. But oh it is so worth it, knowing that we have victory in Christ and hope for an eternal future rather than this hopeless life being all there is.

Originally I voted 'not sure', but after some careful consideration I've come to the conclusion that it IS hard. The thing we are called to do: to love one another and not worship idols, and love God the most, seems to be the hardest thing to do at first. You really need God's Spirit in you in order to do what is right.
There isn't much love in most people.

Certain wolves in sheep's clothing make it even harder still for the ignorant and weak. Makes me sad.:(

Yes, Christianity is hard. I believe that if Christianity is not hard, you have begun to follow the ways of the world, which are easy to fall into and follow. You may not even know that you have fallen into these ways until another Christian brings it to your attention.

Christianity, in itself, is not hard. It holds up the basic morals of "Thou shalt not kill", and "Thou shalt not commit adultery". However, in terms of living your faith, it should be difficult, but you should also persevere, and rely on our fellow Christians for help. No one Christian is strong enough to last against the world. At least, not for long.

I also believe that if your walk in faith is not hard, Lucifer already has you. We Americans, I admit, have it easy. Almost too easy. In truth, it is much easier for Lucifer to ensnare us and bind us to him than Christians in many other countries. We have become lethargic, and many do not pursue faith actively.

It can be hard if you don't
Know what you are doing
But also with God's help
It can't be that hard
Knowing that you are His
As well as you submit to His will!

Christianity is not hard. That is to say, being a Christian - believing in God, following Jesus, calling Him "Lord" - is not hard.

Living like a Christian, living like Jesus did, living how a Christian should - that can be hard sometimes. Very hard.

It is so much easier to live by our flesh, easier to live to serve, please and love ourselves. Give, if the urge hits us, share, if we feel like it, and decide for ourselves what moral compass we are going to follow.

It is much harder to give up our will, follow God's will and commands, love when we don't want to, share even when we don't feel like it, serve others rather than be served. It is harder in this era of tolorance to stand firm on the Word of God and say that some things are not ok, some things are sinful, right and wrong are based on what God says not how we feel.

To become a Christian is one of the easiest things to do. The hard part is trying to learn to be a Christlike person with lukewarm worldly christians around you.Reading G_D`s word is essential daily.

Yes, it's hard to be a Christian. But it's even harder not to be one.

holynoise
22nd July 2008, 07:17 PM
It's much easier to live by the world then walk the line of faith. The only way it becomes easy to walk the path of a christian life is consistent study of the Word of God and fellowship w/ other Christians. That alone is a challenge. But it is well worth it.

ps: I accidentally voted no it's not hard to be a christian....My bad. Mistype. Soooo....subtract 1 from No and add one to Yes...lol

God Bless

It is pretty hard if you had sinned and everything around you can influence you and pressure you to do the bad things. Just pray and believe in the Lord, he will help you because he is the greatest. May God bless you all, A'men.

Truly we are living in evil times (maybe even the end times).

At one time in history, people looked UP to you if you are a good person and believed in God.
