I read in one of Ware's books that orthodox Anglicans (the true kind) and the Orthodox are the most similiar as both look to the early church.
I began reading your posts here. I saw the way you would ignore those that would argue, that you would simply state your faith and that you have strong faith in what you believe.
I contacted the Father at an Antiochian church not far from me and we have chatted.
I will be attending Easter Pascha at this church (it's a week after the western) and my family and I will meet later with him.
I am leaving my apostate church very soon as I can no longer dwell with those that refuse to believe Truth. It will be hard for me but I look forward to being with those of a living faith and tradition - those that don't bow to every whim of society - and those who retain the teachings handed down.
This is due in a great part to all of you on this site. From the bottom of my heart - thank you.
I quit saying "from the son" some time ago in my own church, but the hardest part will be remembering to cross myself in the opposite direction of what I'm used to. :)

God bless you all - stand strong in this day and age - don't give in to the world - and once again...
thank you,

Michael (Cathromang)

My initial experience here in TAW was very similar. I came to investigate Orthodoxy and was blown away by the unity of the faith shared by many different people from all walks of life and from all over the world. Sure there were disagreements but never regarding the essence of the faith. That more than anything else is what first drew me to Orthodoxy.

Welcome home.

thank you all!

The unity is very great and brought me as well. The small disagreements don't bother me and I can debate as well - but when you are talking about the basics and essence of the faith...then that's a different story! And you all have the basics down pat...in my humble opinion.

The place I will be attending is about 95% converts - and has had remarkable growth in the last few years - to the point they are starting missions in adjacent cities.

The hardest thing will be saying goodbye to many friends at my current church - but God doesn't call us to be comfortable, He calls us to be committed yes?
(Plus I look forward to many new friends...)

I'll post about my time at my first Easter Pascha...until then I will be constantly learning from you...and probably asking many questions throughout...

That which was from the beginning,

which we have heard,

which we have seen with our eyes,

which we have looked upon, and our hands have touched,

concerning the Logos of life— the life was manifested,

and we have seen,

and bear witness,

and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us— that which we have seen and heard we declare to you,

that you also may have communion with us;

and truly our communion is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.

St. John Theologian
