It's awful!
Read the commentary (http://www.shns.com/shns/g_index2.cfm?action=detail&pk=RELIGION-FAITH-03-15-06)for it to make even a little sense....

couldn't watch the whole thing, but was glad to see Mattingly's piece explaining it, it makes much more sense it that light.

The commentary was interesting, but I still think it was in poor taste.

Was a bit blasphamous, but I do think his point rang pretty true. I remember when The Passion first came out, the Protestant bookstores were selling little nails to wear as necklaces. I guess this video is the consumer-christian mentality taken to it's logical conclusion.
I also think McDonalds WOULD try this kind of campaign, if they could make enough money with it. But then again, I HATE McDonalds.

Poor taste, maybe, but from the commentary it seems that the filmmaker is starting to ask some real questions: "What is the purpose of worship? What is the purpose of the pulpit?"
It seems that the comfortable model of American Christianity, at home in the world, is starting to ring hollow.
I have often wondered how a multinational such as McDonald's would react if America were to become more Orthodox. I have a feeling that, faced with a culture not centered on buying things we neither need nor want, with money we do not have, such companies would fight tooth and nail.
