I went to the fire station tonight to get an application and it's soooo intense, and now they also have a physical fitness test. It's the hardest fire department to get into around here and now I stand no chance because of this fitness testing and I am just so discouraged.
I live the same distance from 3 departments, and I live in the district for the above department.
I spent a long time with a different department and after all of my hard work they decided they don't want me, no reason either, but a few of them are against women...
So... yeah... the third department would be easier to get to but the road there is very twisty and my cousin struck a telephone pole and died on it. It's also out of my way. The department I had been with was also out of my way.
The one I just got the application for is in town... I go there all the time.

Dear Canadiancarebear, I'm so sorry about your cousin's passing, and especially on a road you need to travel if you get that position. I pray for a job for you, and that no man can stop God from putting you where He wants to. God bless you, Tapero

First, I know you can do it, if you put hard work into it that is bracketed by prayer. But, if God does not open that door, then He has a reason. Ask God for guidance.
My dream throughout my life has been two-fold: be a doctor or fly in the USAF. I chose to attempt med school. I did so, and I almost got with my first application (I was 3 people too deep on the waiting list). Every year after that, acceptance was turned down with more speed and voracity. God showed me that it was not His will. I was very discouraged, but after prayer, God opened up a door that I thought was impossible because of my poor eyesight. Despite that, God has placed me in a position to grow, be trained to serve Him and be in a job I enjoy.
God will guide you and He has a plan for you. When God closes a door, it could either be to help make you more successful through more training, or in a different location; or He may be saying 'no.' The only way to know is through prayer. But, in your prayer, do not be discouraged. God's will is best and He will guide you.
God bless you,
Dave

This I think is one of the hardest things for Christians to learn to do -- give it to God. Know in our heart when we cannot do anything else, there is a reason. When these situations happen in my life (daily!) I just keep in mind if it is something God wants, it will happen. And I know that He has something better in store. Who knows in a couple of months something else you never thought of might come up, and it is a much better situation than this. This is always what happens for me. Just keep praying and listening to what God wants you to hear. Even if it is a no, wait, or not right now.. yes might come.. or something else!:prayer:

We all need to give it to God
No matter what kind of situation
That we are in
Just to lean on Him
To let us know what we need to do!
