Request for Messianic Resources

I've recently become more aware of the Jewish feasts and celebrations and the richness that they afford in the light of the revealed Messiah.

I would be very interested to know if anyone can recommend a book, tapeset, website, etc. that provides more insights and commentaries on the Hebrew culture and traditions and their corresponding ties to the New Testament ministry of Jesus Christ.

There are several excellent books on this subject which you can purchase from a number of sites.

"God's Appointed Times" by Barney Kasdan is a very popular book, and I have a copy of it myself. He teaches the observances of Pesach (Passover), Sfirat Haomer (First Fruits), Shavuot (Pentecost), Rosh HaShanah (Feast of Trumpets), Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement), Sukkot (Tabernacles), Hanukkah (Feast of Dedication), Purim (Feast of Lots), and the Sabbath.

He has also written "God's Appointed Customs" which deals with such Jewish customs as "B'rit Milah" (Circumcision), Pidyon Ha'ben (Redemption of the Firstborn), Bar/Bat Mitzvah (Son/Daughter of the Commandment), The Jewish Wedding, Death and Mourning, the Mezuzah (Doorpost), Kashrut (Kosher laws), Mikveh (Ritual Water Immersion), Tzitziyot (Fringes), Kippah (the Headcovering), and T'fillin (The Phylacteries).

Both are great books, I higly recommend them.

I really love First Fruits of Zion, their materials are *excellent!* I consider them to be the Premiere resource for Messianic Jewish materials.

Michael Rood has several a variety of materials in video, audio, and printed format:

"Prophecies in the Feasts of the Lord" is a four-volume set which teaches the prophetic significance of the Spring and Fall Feasts.

"The Feasts of the Lord and Their Prophetic Significance" is an audio teaching on the same subject.

I would suggest that you ask the Rabbi at your congregation [hopefully mjaa/iamcs sanctioned] if the above links that you posted are considered legitimate teaching resources according to the doctrine of Messianic Judaism.We must always keep in mind what James said about 'teachers' incurring a stricter judgement.
