I have an important prayer request for you guys. A little over an hour from now, I'm going to meet an unbelieving friend of mine, with whom I have been sharing the Gospel for some time (he was raised Catholic, and fell away). Tonight I plan to ask him to come to the evangelistic service that my church holds on Wednesday nights (that's tomorrow). I would like to humbly ask you to pray for my friend Paul: that God would soften him to Christ, and that he, like his namesake, would have the scales lifted from his eyes so that he can see the truth of the Gospel. I'd also like to ask you all for prayers for myself, that I, though a sinner, could be a good servant to this person on behalf of Christ Jesus.

I also want you to know that God has already been at work here. Paul and I don't get very much time to have conversations about the Gospel anymore, because we don't have any classes together. I didn't think we'd be able to get together today, but I just found out that he would most likely be free tonight. Praise God who is sovereign over all things!

Anyway, I thank everyone who reads this tonight.

Sorry I didn't see this before church tonight.

Dear Lord, I pray for Paul that you would soften his heart and that he would come to know you as his Savior. Please use Arunma in a mighty way through your Spirit to speak the scripture and words Paul needs to hear. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

My prayers are with you, my friend. I pray that the Lord will bring your friend, Paul, to Him....that the door to his heart will be open to Him. God Bless You. :prayer:

Thanks, everyone, for your prayers. They certainly did reach the throne of God. Paul is coming to church with me tonight. And last night was also very fruitful. God moved Paul to ask me to describe my own testimony to him. And I was also able to share with him the importance of the resurrection of Christ. He seemed to be rather receptive to the Gospel.

If you can, please continue to keep this person in your prayers, so that he will one day confess Christ as Lord to the glory of the Father. Thank you everyone.

I'll be praying for your friend Paul today.

Lord continue the work you have set out in Paul's life now. Use arunma for your will...so that we may give you all the praise and glory. I pray that we all will be rejoicing for this young man's decision this evening. Thank you for all that you have done and will continue to do.....Amen!

Just a small update on my friend Paul. He came to church with me on Wednesday night, and was very interested in our pastor's message (it was on the complete dependance of Christianity on the deity and humanity of Christ Jesus). He also commented that our worship was very sincere, which he contrasted with his old Catholic church. He was planning to meet one of my church's staff members and myself for lunch today, simply to discuss the Gospel a bit further. Unfortunately he decided not to come, but said that he would be interested in meeting us some other time.

So this has served as a reminder to me that God works in his own ways, and our only job is to be good servants for Christ.

God does work in mysterious but good ways indeed
You are right about that my friend!
