I'm a big fan of the Finnish team!!!! They have 4 Dallas Stars - Jere Lehtinen, Niko Kapanen, Niklas Hagman & Jussi Jokinen. :thumbsup: (They would have had Antti Miettinen, but he got hurt so they took Hagman. :) )

Am I going to get showered in BOOOO's if I admit that all other things being equal, in international sports most of the time I chear for the team from that country that lies inbetween Poland and France? This is especially true in World Cup Soccer.

The Germans are not really known as a great hockey country anyway. But they do seem to excell at the alpine events? Them and the Austrians (who I would argue are more German than people who live in Berlin), and the Swiss. :D

Yea, Russia-Finland is always a big rivalry... The Canadians really played rather cruddily today... just about tripping all over themselves. I really hope Finland can beat them. They've really been on a roll!

They're out... they already lost to Russia today. I was surprised how many mistakes they made... they are usually tough.

Are you sure you are not a lawyer, using such fine print like that? Or maybe you just like to ruffle my feathers? Ok, I guess I can chear for Finnland. But IN NO WAY will I ever chear for the Navy in Army v. Navy games. Someone help me find another Army officer to date, please!

I guess you didnt see last fall that I was dating a woman who was a doctor and a lt. colonel in the army. She could kill me 600 ways with her pinky finger, but many times I picked her up and carried her like she was a sack of potatos. Plus, doctors take the hypocratic oath and thus are not allowed to kill.

That's what we did, go Finland! :D To be honest, I don't really care who wins, won't affect my life in any way... But of course, if someone's going to win anyway, let it rather be Finland than some other country. :cool: I was being tortured by my dentist during the match yesterday and only read about it in the newspaper this morning, probably wouldn't have watched it anyway.

No, it really won't affect my life either, other than getting taunted by my husband if we would have lost to the US. ;)

Not that I think Curling is a sport, but I'm gonna have to root for Finland's mens team since they are in the final!!! YAYYY!

Ok, I'll go geek-out somewhere else... Need to pack more of Kevin's stuff. And do laundry.:sick:

My sympathies to Khaleas and all Finn fans. :(

They played well, but I think the Swedes just were able to out-muscle them a little bit. Swedes won 3-2.
