Hello, TAW-ers!
I'd like to request a prayer for my mother-in-law, Galina. She's going to have to go under the knife and might lose her legs. She's not Christian (raised communist-atheist) but has been reading Fr. Alexander Shmemann's diaries and is "moving in the right direction" (we hope). Anyway, all of this is terrifying, and my wife and I would surely appreciate your prayers.

Probably tomorrow. It's considered an emergency, but they're trying to get the inflammation down first.

Update:
Thanks for your prayers! We're not out of the woods yet, but there is hope. After a week of shots to reduce inflammation, the doctors see hope of eliminating the problem without surgery! But she's still hospitalized and its still serious. If anyone could say another prayer for her, it'd be appreciated.

Update:
The problem is still there, but the threat has been minimized, inflammation is down and she's been released from the hospital with an injunction to walk a lot. So we're going to turn her loose for walks with our granddaughter!!
