Hey everyone,
Sorry I haven't been here in a while, but I would just like to request your prayers for my daughter, I'm taking her to the emergency room right now. She has a stomach virus and her doctor says she might need to be admitted for iv fluids. I'm real worried because she is constantly getting sick now.
Thanks

My prayers.
IV fluids really helped me once when I was very ill. Just watch to make sure that they don't try to push the IV drip too fast.
When the emergency doctor tried to do that with me, I told him that I was very chillled and that a cold IV bag dripping into my arm might put me into shock.
He reconsidered and slowed it down.

Thanks Aria and Theophorus,
We ended up waiting in the er for 3 hours for nothing. Apparently I'm keeping her well hydrated- that was thatband it cost me about $4000.
Thank you for the prayers

$4000 for just waiting around.
Whoa!
However, when a child is sick and you don't take them to the ER, then they could call Child Protective Services and the legal fees could be well over $4000.
Sometimes, I wonder.
I was able to nurse my husband and son through hepatitis when the doctor really wanted them in the hospital.
I had to set my timer about every two hours to give them lemon water or soup to keep them hydrated.
The hepatitis was caused by the epstein barr virus (commonly called mononucleosis).
I gave them a lot of homemade potato-onion-celery soup because beans, lentils, and meat
are bad for hepatitis.

What is the Ariaat in my post above?
I didn't input that.
What is going on with CF?
I just discovered another code problem at CF:
don't use a lot of / / in your posts to separate words like either/or or and/or
That is how the Ariaat came to be inserted in my post.
I was able to remove that intrusion by deleting those forward slashes.

Good news your daughter is not in the hospital. Bad news about the bill. WOW!
*note to self: no ER visits until you have insurance .... must stay healthy, must stay healthy*

Yikes! $4000!
That's rough! My sister is currently waiting for the hospital bill for her Hospital bill. (Four days in the CCU, with no insurance. Don't even want to think about it!)

I know, its terrible for people feeling like they have to avoid caring for themselves because of the expense... and when the problems serious enough that they get the care they need the the looming dread of the bill can make them ill itself...
Fortunately I discovered that I was eligible for medicaid during pregnancy. Id gotten my temporary card just a few days before I had to go to the ER last week!
Im glad your daughter's okay, rainbowbright, and I pray that she gets well and stays well.

Thanks everyone.
She's still pretty sick and as cranky as ever- don't even try to look at her because then she'll scream and push you away. Today at a restaraunt, she was getting all the attention from the older ladies, but she really couldn't give a rip.. As far as the bill goes, we're still paying for her last er trip, my stay in the hospital last summer, her birth and my D&C from my miscarriage; I hate to say it, but it looks like a bankruptcy is in order.

My prayers that both St. Joseph and St. Nicholas the Wonderworker will come to your aid.

I dont know if medical bills are worth filing bankruptcy over. Id just research and try to find peoples opinions you can trust. I know how the burden feels...
