I saw it in Books-A-Million and wanted to get it but didn't because I was with my parents and they wouldn't have been to fond of me getting it. I read the first few pages of it and it looks like an excellent book. I want it so badly.

Yes, I have it. Its a great little autobiography of a normal guy just trying to be a faithful Catholic really living it. Painfully honest depiction of his struggles and joys.

I just checked it out of the library -- very good book!

Who would be the author?, Just in case I decide to try and find one at my local Catholic Christian bookstore.

Matthew Lickona is the author. You might find it in the teen or young adult section... I saw a stack of them in the confirmation gift section a few months back. I think you'll enjoy it. :)

I've asked for this book since Christmas... I think I will just go out and get it myself to read. Maybe I'll check it out from the library. I've heard it was great. When it first came out I heard the author interviewed on EWTN... really made me want to go read it.

One of the reasons I liked this book was because I felt like the author was in my world. Sometimes, I get this image of 'good' Catholics (meaning those who are in submission with church teachings and ideologies) that they all have 10 kids, wear headcoverings and for fun go see a Latin Mass. (btw I truly hope no one takes offense at this, there is nothing wrong with any of these things, they are just different ways than how I personally live out my faith.)

This author is a thirty-something regular modern guy. Sure, he does a lot of other-worldly Catholic things (like taking a cold shower and praying Hail Mary and telling his screaming wife in labor to 'offer it up honey') but he likes gourmet cooking, drinking fine wine and IMO, I could relate to him. He's a good balance of 'good' Catholic and Man in the modern world. He's honest, he's real and he admits to his shortcomings just as easily as he admits to being a faithful Catholic.
