The recent thread on Orthodoxy got me thinking about the Orthodox Study Bible which i believe was supposed to be published mid-way through 2005.

Has anyone heard anything about it?

It got delayed a bit due some illnesses on the part of the translation team. Last I heard, I think they were talking about a summer 2006 publication date.

Darn those pesky illnesses!

At least it's not too long to wait.

Yeah, it has been delayed. I've been following it for some years now myself.

Best advice is to go to TAW and ask there.

I have the older one with just the NT. It's ok. I suppose.

I'm looking forward to the new one.

I'm not really a fan of the New Testament version, mainly due to the translation used.

The advantage of the OT version is that it's based on an entirely new Orthodox translation of the Bible.

The one weakness I can already see with it is that it is based on the inferior TR text.

Since many EOs don't like the NRSV, I would have suggested they base their version off the RSV instead of the NKJV. Better text sources, more modern, and widely acclaimed.
