The modern church has mostly been about "saving" people. Not saying that is all bad at all. But as one respected author put it, the modern evangelical church has done a great job about preaching "being born again" but has failed miserably at growing those people up. So, common questions by most evangelical churches is to tell people, "What if you die tomorrow? Are you ready for heaven" But in listening to Rob Bell's latest series, The Flames of Heaven, the more accurate questions of the day might be, "What if you live another day? How will you live your life if you are given another day?"
Are you ready for Heaven to crash into earth?

Awsome! I agree about the fact that chruches raising thier "crops". But, when a person is saved.. the church as planted the seed. Have borned that person into the KINGDOM. It is between GOD and that person if the grow. Churches have classes and sorts.. but it is up to that person to take that step to learn and grow in Christ..
Each person is at a different place in thier lives..so Christ protays Himself in different ways..
I know living every day is a blessing.. a chance to experience GOD all around me.. Everyday is a learning expereince, also. I have been saved for 5 years, but this year I made a promise to GOD to dedicate this year to Him. I read the Bible everyday, attend chruch 2 times a week and attend bible studies.. I live my life day to day talking to GOD for support, love, and thankfulness...

Good topic. I've been thinking about this lately. Being born again was something that "happened" to me, it wasn't something I brought on myself. Is that normal? How many Christians are born again Christians? Are there higher or lower numbers of born agains in certain denominations?
Edit to add:
I look forward to going Home, whenever that is!

You are saying that you didn't bring this on to yourself? Can you please explain.
God deals with your heart.
I don't know the numbers of born again Christians. but, I hope the numbers are huge!!!
I would think born again christians would not be a specific denomiantion. They are Christians, and the relegious part is not that important.. It is your relationship with Jesus.

I was a bad Christian for a long time, happily. I wasn't looking to change my ways, mostly because I wanted to believe that God loved me just the way I was. I only had thoughts about my Christianity at Easter and Christmas. Then BAM! I had a thirst and hunger that I never had before...and it hasn't faded. My current relationship with Christ makes my prior Christianity seem almost embarrassing. I wasn't seeking to develop my relationship with Christ, He sought me out, changed my heart, and I'll never be the same again.

As I understand it, not everyone who professes to be a Christian, is really a Christian. Didn’t Christ say that the only way to be saved was to be born again? (Loosely quoted). If so, then only those who are born again will be saved, and that means that only those born again are truly Christian.
Salvation (being born again) has nothing to do with denominations. It has to do with one’s relationship with Christ.

Edit to answer the question: If I die tomorrow, I will be having dinner tomorrow evening with my Dad, Sister, Mother-in-Law, Father-in-law, other family members and CHRIST. Now that is what I would call a CELEBRATION.

I totally agree. I've been saved for 5 years, but it wasn't until last spring that I truely felt God moving in my life. However, it was me that had to take the first step by attempting to be a better witness and Christian (it was actually in response to a mistake that I made which I feared had cost me my witness. The ways God works :D ).

Now that is what I would call a CELEBRATION.I'm going to see my mom again and I will get to meet my Aunt Lucy who died as a baby! I also have an older sibling who was miscarried and an aunt/uncle that was miscarried. And, by the grace of God, my dad. And, if it pleases Him, my pets too!
And don't forget CHRIST!
