I've just been reading a few threads over in OBOB and really think we need to start to praying for some of our brothers and sisters in Christ.
There are a few who are currently undertaking a very difficult journey of discernment and i pray God may grant them all wisdom and strength at this time, even if they feel he is calling them away from the Anglican Church.
God our Father,
You have a plan for each one of us,
You hold out to us a future full of hope.
Give us the wisdom of your Spirit
so that we can see the shape of your plan
in the gifts you have given us,
and in the circumstances of our daily lives.
Give us the freedom of your Spirit,
to seek you with all our hearts,
and to choose your will above all else.
We make this prayer through Christ our Lord.
Amen :crossrc: :crossrc: :crossrc:

As one going through a period of discernment myself, I thank you. I could really use some prayers as I contemplate leaving the RCC for the Anglican Church.

I will certainly keep you in my prayers as well. As I said in a post to gitlance in a different thread: move slowly and deliberately in a decision such as this. Commitment to one's faith should be as firm as commitment to a marriage, for if we cannot be faithful in our spiritual lives, how can we expect to be in our secular lives?
But when God is calling you to a particular place, you cannot deny God. Just as there are reasons that make divorce an inevitable necessity, there are reasons to change confessions or communions or commitments. But they should never be hasty or trivial reasons.
From the Anglican perspective, you are by your baptism already a full member of the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church that we proclaim, so let us not in any way rush you into burning bridges better left unburned. But let us welcome you into our midst, as a sister, even if eventually you decide that you have only been a sojourner among us.

Amen! That is so true.

Well, no bridges are burned yet! As I was saying in OBOB, it may be some time before I fully reconcile with the Church. Your prayers and support are welcome and wished for. For now, as I'm somewhat "in the Tiber", the Catholic Faith Icon best describes me. :)
