Hi everybody!
I'm fairly certain that everyone's favorite book is the Bible, but what are other books and authors that you use for reference in regards to theological ideas (not necessarily devotional books like Lucado, etc)?
Thanks and God bless you!

I love anything by C.S. Lewis, unfortunately haven't read completely through his major works.

I don't have a favourite author. Just when I think I have come up with the best something/one else comes along.

Revelation Unveiled, by Tim LaHaye. Then the Left Behind series which covers the lead-up to the tribulation, the tribulation and beyond. Fictional account of what will happen during the end days.

I like the "Charts" books by Zondervan. I have one on Theology and Doctrine and one on Church History.
I have a few I don't really like...
I don't know if you'd call him a theologian, but J.C. Ryle has some good stuff.

I like David Jeremiah, Erwin Lutzer, Lee Strobel, Charles Stanley, among others. I'll like any book I deem to be good, though, regardless of the author. I like C.S. Lewis too but haven't read a lot of his stuff but have read the Chronicles of Narnia. I don't remember if I've read anything else, my memory is poor.

Anything by A.W. Tozer
A little dry but facinating and thought provoking.

I don't think I have just one favourite author. A few of my favourite authors and/or theologians include Eric Mascall, Christopher Hall, Thomas Odin, John Stott, J. I. Packer, J. C. Ryle, and Bradley Nassif.

I have a particular fondness for Chesterton's books "Orthodox" and "Heretic", also "Pilgrim's Progress" and "Holywar" by Bunyan are both a must read as far as I'm concerned.
I also seem to spend quite alot of time in the Ante-Nicene Fathers, particularly Justin Martyr and Irenaeus Against Heresies.
And as strange as it may seem, Musashi's "Book of Five Rings", and Sun Tsu's "Art of War" both provide valuable insight into conducting warfare, spiritual or otherwise.
