Yes, the Litrgy is important to me. The Liturgy itself (but not any specific form the Liturgy may take), is prescribed in the Bible. We have readings from Sacred Scripture (1 Timothy 4:13), Psalms and Hymns (Colossians 3:16), Prayer (1 Timothy 2:1-3), Holy Communion (1 Corinthians 11:23-34), etc.

The liturgy is important to me because of what DanHead says above, that the Word of God is prevalent throughout the entire service from beginning to end. It's not a bunch of repetitious clap happy Jesus is my friend junk, but real truth of scripture that actually feeds us.

The liturgy helps us to keep our focus on Christ crucified for the forgiveness of our sins.

*** i'm not alone! yay

glad someone else has gotten tired of that drivel

not as though there's no reason to be joyous, there's lots of reason to be joyful. but yea, better to have lots of scripture and prayer in church, the lcms liturgy is pretty good. i do wish the congregation would talk to me some time though.
