Why isn't Levi included in the twelve tribes of Israel?

Am I right when I state that the 12 tribes were started with the 12 sons of Jacob?

Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Gad, Asher, Dan, Naphtali, Issachar, Zebulun, Benjamin, and Joseph...

Joseph's line was "replaced" by Mannaseh (Joesph's first born) and Levi was "replaced" by Ephraim (another son of Joseph)

The twelve tribes mentioned in Ezekiel 48:

Reuben, Simeon, Judah, Gad, Asher, Dan, Naphtali, Issachar, Zebulun, Benjamin, Mannaseh (for Joseph) and Ephraim...

What happened to Levi??

It depends on the context....if your context is in reference to the land or inheritance then you would not see Levi as their inheritance was the Lord himself and the other tribes supported them as they tended to ABBA's needs in and around the Temple...they got no land to own:wave: Numbers 18:23-24 23 "Only the Levites shall perform the service of the tent of meeting, and they shall bear their iniquity; it shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations, and among the sons of Israel they shall have no inheritance. 24 "For the tithe of the sons of Israel, which they offer as an offering to the LORD, I have given to the Levites for an inheritance; therefore I have said concerning them, 'They shall have no inheritance among the sons of Israel.'"Numbers 35:2-3 2 "Command the sons of Israel that they give to the Levites from the inheritance of their possession, cities to live in; and you shall give to the Levites pasture lands around the cities. 3 "And the cities shall be theirs to live in; and their pasture lands shall be for their cattle and for their herds and for all their beasts. Joshua 14:3-5 3 For Moses had given the inheritance of the two tribes and the half-tribe beyond the Jordan; but he did not give an inheritance to the Levites among them. 4 For the sons of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim, and they did not give a portion to the Levites in the land, except cities to live in, with their pasture lands for their livestock and for their property. 5 Thus the sons of Israel did just as the LORD had commanded Moses, and they divided the land. Joshua 18:7 7 "For the Levites have no portion among you, because the priesthood of the LORD is their inheritance. Gad and Reuben and the half-tribe of Manasseh also have received their inheritance eastward beyond the Jordan, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave them." Joshua 21:3 3 So the sons of Israel gave the Levites from their inheritance these cities with their pasture lands, according to the command of the LORD.

Yo!

Yes they are! :preach:

LEVI'S HERE!!!
Revelation 7:4-8

Tishri1 is right in saying, "see Levi as their inheritance was the Lord himself."
They were a picture of those who Serve God.
They had no physical land to posses because their land of Promise
was God Himself. Now since Jesus came, He fulilled the Law that
the Levit's were to carry out which end Pointed  to JESUS.
The Levit's received an OFFERING a sacrifice.
And now since Jesus came, who is our sacrifice, we too in Him
are a Spiriual Living Sacrifice Holy and Acceptable unto Him.

What is a Spiritual Sacrifice?

When The Holy Spirit leds you to die to:
1. Hmmm...that little strife that you could engage in with others
2. And that,....little sarcasm that so easily we could jump back with
3. And that,.....(this gets me at times) huge word that I could use to make myself look so smart compared to others.
And the like.

When we don't 'carry out Sin' we give then ourselves unto God
as a Spiritual Living Sacrifice--HOLY UNTO HIM,...which is our reasonable
service! Or else, go get drunk because Life is really as bad as it seems.....because God isn't real to you nor does your REASONABLE SERVICE make any sense when you just hear God's Word but you don't GIVE YOURSELVE OVER TO HIS WILL in your life. :preach: So, you might as well,.......wait on our Calling then until GOD HIMSELF HAS MADE THIS STUFF REAL TO YOU!! Which isn't a bad place
to be....it's a bad place when we are just playing WITH GOD'S WORD.

And:
JESUS IS: God's Promised Land, for all believers, still having no place to lay our heads. No continuing city as Abraham knew as well, he looked high than just a piece of real estate.
For it's the Meek, who will inherit the Earth, GOD'S TRUE PROMISED LAND SAID! :preach:
JESUS IS: The Inheritance from the Father, to all who Love Him.
JESUS IS: God's Son who Serves The Father, this is a better
Priesthood, so the Priesthood was to change so that The Power of
Everlasting Life could move in!

Hebrews 7:12-16

AND WE WILL REMAIN "IN CHRIST JESUS" IF WE OBEY
and faint not,..having our faith firm until the end
of our journey.

So, all what the Levit's were to perform Jesus came to fulfill.
BECAUSE THIS OFFICE, WAS ALL ABOUT JESUS CHRIST!!!
So that now, In Christ, we might Establish the Law that
is now Written on our Hearts to be Led by God's Holy Spirit
of Promise as well.

:preach:
God is so about Promises and Promises, if we will be warned!

Hebrews 10:35-39

This is not entirely accurate. Yeshua came to abolish the penalty for sin, He was/is the atonement for our sin. The Levites had a Lot of responsibilities, not just sacrificing for sin.1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;Revelation 1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Actually, that is not entirely accurate. The Cohenim are the descendents of Aaron (who was a Levi). So technically, the Cohenim are Levi'im (though they're not referred to as such, they're referred to as Cohenim). But not all Levi'im (and the people who are actually referred to as Levi'im) are Cohenim. Today's Levi'im or when the Bible refers to them, is referring to the descendents of Moses. The descendens of Aaron are referred to as Cohenim.

The Levites had a special inheritance to be able to serve God daily in the Tabernacle, presenting the offerings, moving it when they moved...then serve in the Temple once it was built...They were selected by God to be their priests..
