Basically, I think of "divers places" as being out of the way places, or various places, here and there...

I think one of the Scriptures you're thinking of has to do with wars or disasters in divers places? That would be wars here or there, odd places, various places...

I believe you are right Jan.

Mat 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines and earthquakes in divers places.

Eze 16:16 And thou didst take of thy garments, and madest for thee high places decked with divers colors, and playedst the harlot upon them: the like things shall not come, neither shall it be so.

Looks like it means differnet palces or colors. Divers reminds me of SCUBA diving for some reason. :D

I know there is more, but i looked through all of the Torah last night and was about to decide that Moses may have never even used this word, then i found this:

Deuteronomy

22:9

Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with divers seeds: lest the fruit of thy seed which thou hast sown, and the fruit of thy vineyard, be defiled.

22:11

Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers sorts, as of woollen and linen together.

Maybe someone knows the hebrew meaning of the word?

It sounds to me that divers = Mixture. That is a no no with G-d. He wants things to be pure and not mixed.

Rev 3:16 So because thou art lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spew thee out of my mouth.

When you mix Hot with cold you get lukewarm. We don't want to be lukewarm we want to be Hot to follow Torah and G-d. It is like Coffee you either like it hot or iced, but lukewarm is YUK!!!
