During the new year celebration my friends and I were reading and discussing the Bible. The topic of the forbidden fruit came up due to an apple break.
When Adam and Eve were in Eden they were physical beings - man (ok and Woman). Were they also spiritual beings that were dwelling in paradise on a earthly/heavenly plane? Sin (it wasn't an apple) would have removed them from the heavenly place. Is this why we cannot see Eden now? The thief on the cross was promised paradise (Luke 23:43) and Paul spoke of someone of paradise that may or may not have been living on earth (2 Cor 12:4). The third NT (Rev 2:7) reference speaks of God allowing him (her) that overcame to eat of the tree of life which was is Eden. Is there something in the original text that would shed some light on this?

why do you say it wasn't an apple?

It was the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. If it was an apple tree then God now allows us to eat of that tree.

I read somewhere in the bible that it has 7 different fruits that grow from it.

If it was an earth fruit, could it have been a fig tree since the leaves of the fig tree is what they covered themselves wth? But using those leaves would have revealed that they touched that tree. The tree of life has 12 fruits. I didn't find anything on 7 fruits.

Rev 22:2 In the middle of its street. On this side of the river and on that was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruits, yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
DiddyDon you are right about the tree of life having twelve kinds of fruit.

I wonder if these 12 fruits are earthly fruits or are unknown. I guess if they were earthly fruits, we would have had eaten them while here. Do we get all you can eat? Does that sound glutinous? Is it one for each month or all 12 all year? Will there be a year or did John interpret this as time? There are 9 fruits of the spirit.
Gal 5:22-23 Love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
meekness, and temperance. I wonder if this is tied in. Just a thought - not my point.
Back to Eden. Is paradise a spiritual plane? Is this the same as Abraham's bosom in Luke 16:22? There are different levels of heaven. Could we be walking around in a level of heaven and not be able to see it?

I guess a clue is that when they sinned, disobeyed father, they had to leave, as the place they were at, Eden, was a place free of sin. We would have had to have been of the flesh as we are now, the sin, the temptation of satan corrupted our flesh.
I don't know about the fruits on tree, i haven't seen the tree yet.
