Hmmm, opening up a can of worms, here.
They believe things that are not scriptural, do not believe Jesus is God. They believe Michael the Archangel was raised up as Jesus. Have their own Bible, which changes wording (Jesus was A god). Believe only 144,000 will make it to Heaven, have changed the date of Jesus' appearing a few times. Do not believe in celebrating birthdays or Christmas. No blood transfusions.
that's all I can think of right now, but I know there is more.

They need Christ the same as we do.
"The" Christ, not "a" Christ.

Mormons beliefs are still the same as they were when it was created back in the mid 1800's. However, over the last 38 years, they have done a lot to disassociate themselves with some of their previous doctrine. If you ask a mormon today if they believe in multiple wives, they will more than likely get angry and say that no one believes that. New mormon doctrines even deny that God created the world fro nothing, but that he created it from invisible particles that already existed. They also believe that you can be a god as well, and there are different levels of heaven. Most mormons believe that christians will go to heaven, but a lesser heaven than they will get to go to. It's a bizarre doctrine indeed.
There was a time when mormons believed in killing those who left the religion. They would actually send out people to murder those who chose to leave. There's lots to know, and CrzyForYeshua did a good job summarizing. I personally believe that they should be classified as a cult. If you want some more info, let me know, I have access to tons, and I can let you know.
God Bless!

MANY years ago I had a friend who was a Jehovah's Witness....and she told me that I needed to become one also...if I wanted to please God. Up till that point I had been Catholic and then became born again after hearing the testimonies of Baptists I'd met. So in wanting to only please God...I decided to get alone with Him and find out what He wanted. He led me on a three day fast. At the end of that time the scripture He showed me...and it came alive....was "..Christ IN YOU, your hope of glory" That's in Col. 1:27. Well one thing I did know about JVs was that they did not adhere to the Christ IN YOU message. THAT was quite enough for me.

Maybe you grabbed the wrong thread...the info is interesting, but this thread asks questions about Jehovah's Witnesses...not Mormons.

Jahovah's witnesses think that you need to do good deeds to get into heaven, but that's not true. You can donate 5 billion dollars to charity, build a homeless shelter in every town of the world, establish world peace, and end all hatred in general and still not get into heaven. Jesus is the only way to heaven, "Jesus told him, 'I am the way the truth in the life, no one can come to the father except through me." (John 14:6) and Paul said, "However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness." (Romans 4:5)

Jehovah Witnesses do a lot of door to door work which you can appreciate but they won't let you witness to them. You hand them one of your own tracts and they won't take it.

They stopped coming to my door when I told them that Christ IN you is the hope of glory, and asked them if they had Christ IN them....which they do not believe in...and that Christ gives victory to us TODAY and not just in the future....after that they just didn't come by any more. If they were to come by today I'd simply tell them that my life is hid in Christ and that I am not interested in joining their group....

I believe that the Christians did these things as well. The Christian Crusades, Saul who became The Apostle Paul, stood while Stephan was stoned to death as a myrtre, and sent many Christians to their physical demise. And other things that you cited about Mormans, I'm not understanding your view, are you Mormon? Because alot of your claims would prove to be Scripturally sound that the Mormons believe, such as different levals of Heaven, where do you think Ranks in the Armed Services came from, certainly not from man. Paul made a number of notations, along with other Authors of the Scriptures concerning different levals of Heaven. And as far as being "as Gods", Paul cited this in The New Testament.
Back to Jehovah's Witnesses, they try, but as with many religions, they try.

I feel as I do about some other "Christian Denomonations". The originator of these denominations bend/twist/distort/add to/take away from the bible to make it conform to what their preconcieved notions of what is right and what is wrong. The followers are simply misled to follow a false light.

Well, I feel that Jehovah's witnesses are polite, dress nice, and seem kind from what I have seen......
But I guess you wanna know how I view them spiritually? I think they teach heresy, and Anti-Christ type doctrine.
Although on some minor little issues I agree with them... for instance, we do not celebrate Christmas, Easter, Vaentines Day, no candles on birthday cakes, and I would highly prefer not to have a transfusion because of spiritual reasons.
But on the main issues I disagree with them.

I recently had a conversation with a JW who was totally into some dispensationalist book about Daniel.
Then he started telling me about "before" (I assume when he was a Baptist or something) when he "didn't know the name of God" - he looked at me and said, HE WANTS YOU TO KNOW HIS NAME.
I gathered up my papers (I was cashing a large pile of checks at work) and said, "Thank you. By the way, his name is written on my heart"
He smiled
Whew.

For one thing, they are not "Christians". It is more or less a cult. I think they have predicted the end of the world a few times, of course they were wrong.
But, we should love them and pray for them none the less!

I can understand why Jehovahs Witnesses do not celebrate Chistmas and other holiday such as lent and eastar, these holiday all are derived from Paganism. If you do not believe see if you can differentiate between pagan celebrations and the holidays we now have, do a little research on the Council of Niacea and Emporor Constantine and what really did this council of Niacea throw away from the scriptures exactly, I believe the bible tells us to test all things, so why do we stop with our bible's and theologies shouldn't we test everything given by man and only trust what is given by God, Oh yeah don't test God, Satan tried to do the same thing he was put in his place.

So you know what Jehovah Witnesses believe is wrong tell me do you know of any theology that you have wrong? I know that I have much to learn about God and his attributes, and from the way it sounded like it you were laughing even mocking Jehovah Witnesses for their beliefs. Is the kind of answer that Jesus would have gave nicodemus when he asked how can we be saved, or when he was asked which of the ten commandments are the greatest. We should treat others as ourselves and love God with all our heart, mind, and souls, against these there are no laws.
