Why wigs?

I have heard, and seen in films, that some jewish women are wearing wigs - not because they lack hair, but because of their jewish beliefs.

A married Jewish woman is to have her hair covered. A wig is one way some Jewish women fulfill this. Others use scarves, snoods, etc. There was a discussion about this for messianic women here (http://www.christianforums.com/t75620-for-the-ladies.html).

I was raised in the Conservative Jewish tradition where this was not followed. It is my understanding that one's hair, a sign of beauty was reserved for one's husband. I'm hopeful that this true.

christian girls get all dolled up for the occasion and wear short stuff to be jesus like b.c jesus died for their sins so they don't have any more rules.

they most important thing that christian girls must do is do as their told and wear it long cut it off or change it;s color and wear some loose flimsy low cut dress so they can show off their cross when the walk between the jewixh golden oscar statue in Follywood, to tell the word the want to thank Jesus first then christina agliera, then madonna for letting them all get done and dirty and of course all the agentsteins.

When a lady joins our congregation we like to give her a gift of a hand made head covering. (When we can afford)

They are very pretty and have Tzitziyot on the corners.

Personally I think there is something very gentle and alluring about this look.
