The town (well one of them by that name) - not the country :D
I haven't been in the country since a "little war" in '73....

Oh!
Hehe!
There is a Bagdad (spelt this way) here is Australia.
I just found this interesting tidbit about it:
Bagdad, 40km north of Hobart in Tasmania, was named by the explorer Hugh Germain, who is said to have carried two books in his saddlebags while travelling, the Bible and the Arabian Nights, and he was renowned for naming places from these books.
During the early part of the Iraq war in April 2003 the town's website was being bombarded by confused internet users from around the world trying to contact Iraqis.

His eyes look much darker than the blue they really are.
You know I've never had "baby fever" - but "puppy fever" is a different story all together! I've been wanting a new puppy for several months now, but with a baby on the way I knew it is not the best time to adopt one. I also figured once Ari was born my "puppy fever" would go away. Nope, I still want a puppy just as much as I ever did!;)

No matter how much you want grand kids - don't be like my mom and start bugging his wife for them as soon as they announce their engagement! My folks had finally given up on being grandparest when we surprised them with the news. (I was almost 40 when I had my daughter.)
My dad said having kids was a wonderful experience, but it was no match for having grandkids! :D

(I was almost 40 when I had my daughter.)
Your daughter is your first child, Wags? (with your son being your second child - you have 2 children now)
Just curious as I'm turning 39 tomorrow! (what if I become pregnant with a first child - I have no children - it's more risky at that age, right?)
Your children look so wonderful!

Yup two kids - one at 39 and one at 41...they are 20 months and 1 day apart.
The odds of getting pg naturally over the age of 35 is pretty slim. But with G-d all things are possible!! Yes there are some increased risks - but both of my children are healthy, and I had relatively uncomplicated pregnancies with each. Recovery takes a little longer than it would for a 20 something year old body, and the sleepless nights take a little more toll on you than they would for someone younger.... but it is possible to survive! :)

Well my "little" lion isn't so little. At his two week exam this morning he weighed 10lbs! Almost a full pound above his birth weight and about 1 1/2 lbs up from his weight when we left the hospital.
I was a little worried, since he only nurses for 10-20 minutes every couple of hours. (His big sister used to nurse for 30-45 minutes at a shot.) But thats a lot of weight gain, so I am reassured that he is getting enough to eat.

Thanks for the compliments everyone! I'm a wee bit proud of my little cub. :D
He gained 3/4 of a pound this last week to bring his weight up to 10 lbs 12 ounces! Thats a better than average weight gain, and it puts him above my lifting restriction. I knew he would be above it when they told me no more than 10 lbs for 6 weeks, just didn't think it was going to be quite this soon.

LOL! Although my daughter does look very much like me - it is hard to tell our baby pictures apart.
