I was watching a video clip this morning about the mean tween girls and although I saw nothing new according to the mean things girls can say (or just pass a dirty look), the term cyber bullies came up.

Recently my daughter experienced an online threat; a girl from school posed as my daughter online and began chatting with a boy who likes my daughter. My daughter did the bright thing of calling the girl up and asking her directly right away. Of course, the girl lied about it.

But, this got me thinking about Cyber Bullies and how a lot of kids will encounter this at some point in their life...probably sooner than we think.

Anyone care to discuss this? Do you have some good advice? I'd like to talk this over with the girls in my Girl Scout troop because next year they'll be going to the Middle School where they'll need to have some smarts to hang on to!
Thanks!

The first thing I would do is ask them if they are Christians or not. If they are, then explain that what they did is not only selfish and wrong, but also a sin in God's eyes.

If they are not believers, then I'm not sure what you can do unless there is a law against it. You could try witnessing to them, and see if their concense convicts them, then you would have filled a double duty. You never know what opportunites The Lord gives us.

I'm sure there must be some kind of internet identify theft goverment agency, but I have no idea how you would find out. Lots of folks here brighter than me, maybe someone here can direct you to that.

I have heard of cyber stalking before, and there can be some very bad things that happen, including physical injury. I understand there is pressure to get Congress to pass some stalking/cyber stalking laws. We're not there yet, but it is being discussed.
