Absolutely unbelievable. Well, I suppose that's not true given the sorry state of American popular culture, and truthfully I'm not very aware of what's out there on the airwaves. This could be the norm for all I know.

I DO know that I will be calling our local NBC affiliate to request they do not air this trash. I have already sent two emails to the network, and have requested that everyone on my contact list do likewise. I'm not sure what else to do from a temporal standpoint.
Any suggestions?

I take solace in the fact that my Father knows all things, and I am praying He will show me how to proceed. I am not a culture warrior in the "activist" sense, believing rather that my time is better spent edifying the body and reaching the lost for our glorious Saviour. I must admit that this time however, I am incensed to action at this slanderous caricature of my beloved LORD being fed to a sin sick world that already hates Him.

Merciful LORD, grant us peace in Jesus' name.

I agree, this is the first time i have written nbc or any company my self. Im just getting sick and tired of being sick and tired of the junk on tv.

Look on the bright side. At least the main character isn't a Baptist pastor.

I posted in the other thread as well. I think if they handle this correctly it could be a good show. If the family is seen tring to improve in Christ is would show how sin is overcome and Christ changes lives. Unfortunately I doubt that is what the intent of the show is.

Yet another example of trash tv. You have ultimate control, however. Don't watch it!

I'm going to contact the American Family Association and see if they'll organize a protest of some kind. Theirs usually gets results!

Well AFA has a protest going - I found it in a previous reply - and I clicked on the link and took action.

As much as I would disagree with this show's description of Christians and "Christianity-lite", I don't think I would lose any sleep over it.

Shows like this are notorious for bombing and disappearing almost immediately.

Show of hands: how many of you remember "Nothing Sacred"? "Heaven Help Us"? How about the Dan Akroyd sitcom?

No? Of course you don't. Neither does anybody else and neither will they remember this show two months from now.

The boycotts and the outrage are understandable, but all they really do is give publicity to a show nobody's going to watch, anyway.

You're much better off to praise good shows than complain about bad ones.

A good point, and one that I shall carefully consider. Thank you, Sir.

NBC Affiliate says "NO" to The Book of Daniel

Other local affiliates bombarded with phone calls, having second thoughts about carrying the program.
Terre Haute, Indiana, NBC affiliate WTWO has become the first
station to announce that it will not carry the anti-Christian
program The Book of Daniel. We urge you to call your local NBC affiliate (http://tracker.afa.net/trk/click?ref=zqbwmov77_0-dx3dx1554796) and ask them to join WTWO in not carrying the program. Please call today and ask others to call. The phone calls do make a difference!
Click Here to read a review (http://tracker.afa.net/trk/click?ref=zqbwmov77_0-dx31ax1554796) of the show by AFA's Ed Vitagliano, who has viewed the entire premiere episode of NBC's The Book of Daniel.

AFA has also learned that NBC is having trouble securing sponsors for the program. It appears that NBC will be forced to fill the available ad spots with "distressed merchandise" ads which are sold at pennies on the dollar of the going rate, and with "make good" ads which bring in no money to the network.

Please call local companies which advertise on your NBC affiliate (http://tracker.afa.net/trk/click?ref=zqbwmov77_0-dx3dx1554796) and ask the local advertisers in a nice way to cancel their advertising on the local affiliate if it carries the program.

It is time to make our voice heard at NBC that we will not long remain silent about their anti-Christian bigotry. Here is what NBC considers to be a positive portrayal of Christians and Christianity:

The program's main characters include Daniel Webster, a drug-addicted Episcopal priest; his alcoholic wife; his son, a 23-year-old homosexual Republican; his daughter, a 16-year-old drug dealer; a 16-year-old adopted son who is having sex with the bishop's daughter; his lesbian secretary who is sleeping with his sister-in-law; and a very unconventional white-robed, bearded Jesus who talks to the priest.
It is written by Jack Kenny, a practicing homosexual who describes himself as being "in Catholic recovery," and is interested in Buddhist teachings about reincarnation and isn't sure exactly how he defines God and/or Jesus. "I don't necessarily know that all the myth surrounding him (Jesus) is true," he said.

Finally, join nearly 500,000 individuals who have already emailed NBC about their anti-Christian bigotry. Click here to send your email. (http://tracker.afa.net/trk/click?ref=zqbwmov77_0-dx31bx1554796) PLEASE FORWARD TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS! WE CAN WIN THIS BATTLE IF WE ALL WILL GET INVOLVED!

Would you consider a small financial gift to help AFA continue this battle? Click here to help. (http://tracker.afa.net/trk/click?ref=zqbwmov77_0-dx310x1554796)
