Dear Friends,
I would greatly appreciate it if you would please remember my Grandmother Helen in your prayers.
Over the weekend, my Grandmother lost two of her nearest and dearest friends. Her one friend, Catherine, died at home in her sleep at the age of 87 on Thursday. Her other friend, Mary Lou, died in a local hospital on Friday at the age of 77 after battiling cancer for 28 yrs.
These two women represent the last of the very few people that my Grandmother had in this world that she could call "friend." She drove to work every day with these women, their children played together, and they shared their lives together.
Although my Grandmother still has her family around her, she feels all alone because everyone of her generation has passed on.
So if you could please remember her in your prayers, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks!

OUR MOST LOVING LORD JESUS, WE HOLD UP BEFORE YOU MAUREEN'S GRANDMOTHER HELEN, AND WE ASK, LORD, IN YOUR LOVE FOR HER, THAT YOU WOULD COMFORT, CONSOLE, AND LIFT HER UP--HEALING HER PAIN AND SENSE OF LOSS AND RESTORING HER TO THE HAPPINESS, PEACE, AND JOY WHICH IS YOUR PROMISED GIFT TO ALL OF YOUR CHILDREN.
IN THE ALL-HOLY NAME OF OUR LORD, GOD, AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST. AMEN.

Thanks for your prayers guys.
Tonight was the wake for Mary Lou, last night was Catherine's service.
:sigh:
My Grandmother is convinced she's next.
Lord have mercy.

Your Grandmother has my prayers :crosseo:
I well remember my father realising that his generation were 'dying out' and also my own Grandmother with mild dementia, commenting that she was now alone - all her friends had pre-deceased her - oh she knew the family were still there - but it was her friends absence that was more of a problem - they had shared so much .

You've hit the nail right on the head.
My Grandmother is far from being neglected by our family (I live with her, her children and grandchildren are all within a 5 mile radius), yet she feels all alone.
I used to try to make her see that she IS loved and that she DOES have a lot to live for. I then realized that I can't change her, but I can change how I react to her.
Now I don't fight her as much when she says "Everyone has abandoned me!" -- I just pray MORE. :crosseo:
Thanks again for your prayers!
