See the following link to this group, which seeks to reverse recent judicial council decisions:

http://www.herewestandumc.org/

The first paragraph from their preamble:

We, the undersigned church leaders, have come together to take a stand in response to recent decisions by the United Methodist Judicial Council. We are United Methodists committed to following Jesus Christ as we embody God’s love and justice through The United Methodist Church. We share a mutual love for the United Methodist tradition, a common passion for justice, and an unshakable conviction that the Gospel of Jesus Christ, mediated through our church, is for all persons. We strongly affirm the assertion in our Book of Discipline that “inclusiveness denies every semblance of discrimination.” (par. 138) We are ashamed for those times that the law of our church has codified discriminatory language and practices, whether in relation to women, ethnic minority persons or any other person or group.

I have already seen this somewhere else. I agree with them that 1032 needs to be reversed, but I will not sign their petition because many of these folks have other agendas that I would never want my name to be associated with.

Upon what do you base that statement?

I found it interesting their home page referred to United Methodism at Risk! and to an article in Zion's Herald:

Opinion:
“Restoring Integrity to UMC's 'Supreme Court'”
-Donald E. Messer

An increasingly politicized and polarized Judicial Council endangers the future of United Methodism. The dynamic unity of the church requires not ideologues committed to special interests but fair-minded and impartial guardians of the church’s Constitution and rule of law.
